If you read the subs/understand what Frieza's saying, he said that he is a genius and reached a Super Saiyan 1 level without training, then it's possible that he could reach far higher levels with training. It's not that unbelievable.

They're surprised of course when Frieza transformed first time, cuz he was dam weak last time compared to now. It's not weird to be surprised at someone suddenly so strong, enough to fight SSJ3. SSJ3 is a very big deal.

Sad about Gohan actually. He's definitely gotten weak, but I don't get why he'd be taken in by a single blow from Frieza in his first form! That's a little ridiculous, even if he hasn't had training after Majin Buu's fight.

Remember, Mystic Gohan > SSJ3 Goku. And I doubt first form Frieza is enough to fight SSJ3 Goku even during Majin Buu's time.

yeah man Gohan... so disappointed in him but well, he was never the fighting type anyway. He said he couldn't really remember how to transform into SSJ even. But Frieza had powered up anyway. His first form is probably SSJ2 level. And Gohan that time was just SSJ1.

Piccolo losing to Dodoria level enemy was the ultimate shock for me. Piccolo was never the Gohan type, I wonder why he became so weak...

But Gohan has already gone Mystic before the fight with Super Buu. Mystic is pretty much like the weaker version of Super Saiyan God, but more powerful than SSJ3 irregardless. In the manga, the Elder Kai did say that Gohan doesn't even need to go SSJ anymore because he's already in top-form without transforming. What is fused into the normal form cannot be lost! Very weird plot hole there IMO.

Indeed. Remember, Piccolo > Imperfect Cell. Heck, even though he never fought during the Buu saga, Goku did say he has improved even more since Cell died. And like you said, Piccolo isn't the one who slacks off on training eventhough he has already reached his peak potential.

I mean, Roshi could freaking fight multiple soldiers coming at him at every angle, how the hell is that even possible? I mean, freaking Roshi man! He's like 70 years past his prime.

Precisely. If he was so strong before, he would have kicked Raditz ass. Remember, that Frieza soldier in the Namek saga, Apor or something, he has the same battle power as Raditz! So if Roshi could take down hundreds of them with a couple of kicks and puches each, wth... Raditz would have been like kicking kid Goku's ass!

Sad that there was no Gotenks, they'd actually be more powerful than Gohan since they're still kids and their power level keeps growing.

If Gohan can go toe to toe with Freeza then no fun already, no need for Goku to save the day again

Also too bad they killed off Freeza again, since he still haven't reach his ultimate form, his Golden form are still incomplete yet as he still haven't get used to it as per Goku, hence he got his ass kicked after a prolonged battle.

Would be nice if he survived, trained harder to complete his ultimate form and come back for revenge again

Which is why it is a weird plot hole then. Like I said, Raditz = normal Frieza soldier power level. So if Roshi could beat dozens of them at a the same time, Raditz would have been piece of cake no? Also, if he didn't "FEEL" like beating Raditz at that time when a CHILD Gohan is being kidnapped, what kind of mentality is that?

Undeniable that Gohan has gotten weaker, but being beaten with a single punch is a little bit ridiculous, it hasn't been that long after Super Buu fight anyways for his power to drop that much. Also, he still did went into Mystic Gohan mode during Battle of Gods which takes place about a year+ before Revival of F (correct me if I'm wrong on the timeline).
