Martial you can actually see his positioning is a little deeper than Cavani.
Cavani's positioning is the typical striker position.
Martial however, is almost like a deep lying striker in which he needs to contribute to linking up attacks and making sure opportunities open up for others. You can see he plays a fair amount of time with his back to goal to keep the ball circulating in attack.

Looked from this angle, I'm not surprised Martial is racking up assists faster than goals. And his rusty shooting is partly to blame, he should have at least one last night.

Here is a controversial opinion I have to kick off a debate.
Other than Bruno, the most important component to MU's attack is Martial.

The small things he does, the little runs when he doesn't get the ball to open up the space; I think he is very underrated for what he does. And it is not really visible as strikers usually get measured by their goal scoring prowess. Getting on the end of chances is the popular benchmark. Martial offers more than that. It's almost to the level of Benzema for RM years ago in the famed BBC (Benzema Bale Cristiano) attack where CR and Bale took all the attention. But Cristiano also said in an interview that Benzema was the most important element.

He drags defenders out to create space. He pins an opposing defender. He provides a passing option into the box where he can roll the ball back out to Bruno in space.

I stil cant stomach why we lost to them. Yes it is a penalty. But could have done better

How is awb best defensive fullback so far ah? I feel like his only quality is tackling which is important, but he gets caught out quite often. He also doesnt seem to have the stamina or speed to sprint back when getting caught out of position. Sometimes i see him slowly jogging back when kena counter.

Correct me if im wrong (I dont watch so much football lol, but i only watch MU games), but AWB seems to let wingers run behind him and giving too much space. I very much prefer to watch Shaw defending. Not sure why he was getting a lot of heat. If i remember correctly, before his injury, he was lazy to track back wingers run too. I've always liked Shaw even when he was making mistake and make up excuses for him, but post-injury Shaw is amazing for me  Also remember his first few seasons with us was amazing too

I based it on the past few games tho, only seen him done well once, and i dont consider ytd as an acceptable performance. I agree he has to cover the CB, but so did Shaw tho. U can just see AWB not noticing wingers running behind him many times though while Shaw didnt have as much leakage.

I still think Telles is not up for the task. Think we should shop for a RB in january, be it to replace AWB or allow rotation for him.
