Alright, I have a pair of itchy hands and I love dismantling stuffs. Well, not just for the fun of it, but also as an upkeeping process, such as cleaning the dusts and all.

So this time it's the fat PS2. I have a model of
SCPH-30002 here. I believe it's of V1, V2 or V3 mobo (I have
10 screws at the bottom of the console). I'm gonna release a rough guide on how to totally dismantle a PS2 in here. And nope, this guide is
not ripped from any websites. As a matter of fact, I could
not find a decent guide anywhere on the Internet when I decided to dismantle mine.

Step 1:
Locate the 10 screw covers.
Step 2:
Open the screw cover by using a flat head screwdriver. Insert the head into the cleavage and slightly push outwards and upwards. The cover should pop up easily.
Step 3:
After all screw covers are opened.
Step 4:Unscrew screws number 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 (refer to picture in Step 1). Flip the console over and lift up the front cover.
Be careful, there's a connector to the
Reset and
Eject buttons.

Just displace the buttons in front and pull the whole thing connected to the connector out from the front cover.
Step 5:
Flip the console over. Unscrew screws number 1, 2, 3 and 5. Lift the cover.
Step 6:
Locate the screw as shown. Unscrew it and lift up the top metal plate.
Step 7:
Displace the connector as shown and lift the metal plate.
Step 8:
Displace the connectors and unscrew the screws as shown. Pay special attention to the connector (fan connector) pointed in blue. Displacing the connector could be a tedious job as it's locked deep inside the female jack.
Step 9:
After all has been displaced/unscrewed, lift up the board vertically.
Step 10:
Locate three silver screws as shown. Unscrew them and lift up the board.
