Before buying a new house, Do I need to test for radon gas? What kind of tests are there for radon?

Radon half life is 3.8 days
By the time u buy the sensor, radon dissapeared.

Unless the materials are known to emit or the in spaces like basement without ventilation, these gases can accumulate yes.

Testing for Radon is more prevalent in HK than here. Actually also I wonder why. Perhaps negligible risk except in special conditions as this research says

I would say asbestos is higher risk with houses built in the 60s and early 70s.

So based on this keep the house ventilated for 8 days will be OK already?
