Some chinese people will change their name in the hope of changing their luck better, or improve their luck in career or relationship.
Many celebs also changed their name before to boost their career.

Anyone have any experience in this? Does it really help in improving your life? But if the chinese name is rarely used due to nowadays people call by English name, does it really matter anymore to change the chinese name?

Any recommended good sifu that do this name changing thingy?
As what I have read online, they need to see the ba zi first before given you a new name.

I think it's stupid.

Edit: My wife tried to ask some sifu come out with an alternate but close sounding name for me. In this case, changed my english name a bit. Used for a while, but didn't like the name, so never used it soon after. Don't really see a difference also.

But to each their own.

Personal belief.

Someone close to me changed his Chinese name few years back. I don't think he's much better off - career and financial wise.

Instead of changing name

maybe try getting more professional qualifications

working hard

exercising

making correct career decisions

probably those are better than changing name

I once saw a fabric name tag on a girl's bag, like those 'remove before flight' tags.....

Happened when I'm 10 years old. The fortune teller said I need to change name or else I wont live thru 30 years old.

I refused to change because the name sounds really funny and I confirm will get laughed at school. Now I'm 35 years old and still kicking.
