BUTTERWORTH: Six Rohingya refugees were arrested and a knife was seized after they were caught fighting at Kampung Bagan Dalam here on Thursday (Oct 29).

North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Noor said police received a call on a fight involving the six men around 11.30am.

“Early investigations found that the fight started due to a dispute over a debt accumulated over the sale of a RM30 bicycle three months ago.

“One of the men, who lives in Bukit Mertajam, had travelled to his friend’s place in Kampung Bagan Dalam for a visit.

“During his visit, his friend at Kampung Bagan Dalam asked him to return the money he owed.

“This started a fight between them, and the rest of their friends got involved," he said.

ACP Noorzainy said the men were arrested and brought back to the Kepala Batas police station.

“Further investigations will proceed after we obtain the remand application under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code from the Butterworth Court on Friday (Oct 30)," he said.

Since MY didn't ratified the UN convention for refugees, why keep these people around for? Not only they are draining gomen resources but also troublemakers to citizens.

Deport them la. The majority don't deserve our generosity anyway. The Rohingyas are quite happy with their new island settlement anyway.
