To explain about Government Unclaimed Money,

All of your accounts, including personal or company bank account, insurance account, telco account, etc which have your extra money in it, after several years inactive around (5 - 8 years) which within those years you can actually claimed back to the bank, insurance provider, etc but you did not. Then, it will go to the government since they cannot keep your money even it is 1 cent.

Eventhough it already goes to the government, you can still claimed back your money. That's why this system existed for all of you to claimed back your money.

The reason why after searching using IC, it doesn't show that you have any amount. It is because that there is no money for you that have not claimed yet (which is 5 - 8 years or more).

There is also in my cases whereby I don't have the money when searched it through IC. But when i used my No. Sijil Kelahiran, it shows. This is because i used to have saving in Bank Pertanian Malaysia during my primary school before it changed to Agrobank. And my account was registered using No. Sijil Kelahiran. That's why in search engines, i only find my money using No. Sijil Kelahiran instead of IC.

To summarize, you can search your money using IC, No. Sijil Kelahiran, and your company SSM number.

You can also search the money on behalf of your family members if im not mistaken. Especially the one that is already dead. But, there are extra processes to claimed back the money. You need to bring death certificate, or go through Amanah Raya process. Im not sure. But you can ask Bahagian Pengurusan Wang Tak Dituntut or Jabatan Akauntan Negara for more details.
