yes. There is. And there's even rich people who collect it as a collectors hobby like fine art now.
1st edition Pokemon cards is the holy grail though.

congrats la. I'm jealous..

I remember years ago, my high school friend asking whether I still had my pokemon cards. I told him yea, I do, but the condition is koyak la..

He then told me wasted opportunity.. to him, Pokemon was going to explode in price due to limited collectors item. He was 100% correct.

Yeah it's all about the condition in these kind of collectibles. Lots of kids had Charizard back then but not every kid would take good care of their Charizard and not show it off to their friends in the playground lol.

Which is why the value it carries when its graded with a high score is so staggering.

so painful to see too. cry.gif

goddamn it Charizard, you never help me to win playground battles, now you punish me more by seeing other Charizard fetch 250k USD whilst you are worth next to nothing due to the torn condition you are in. hahaha..

sigh only in USA. Price per pack last time is around 4usd, with 1 in 3 packs have holo cards, then again luck to get a nice card and with mint or pristine grades.

Malaysia's pokemon cards so cheap seems fishy and fake lel

For sentimental value, the same reason why rolex watches are so invaluable and modern art pieces sell for millions of dollars.

Willing buyer, willing seller.

A watch is difficult to replicate, a card is easily printed.

you obviously never heard of counterfeit watches before..

everything can be duplicated la. Doesn't mean you can't tell the difference.

It is not so easy to duplicate a holographic pokemon card printed in 1999. Infact, it is near impossible.

Meanwhile, rolex watches if you buy a 2nd hand rolex movement, and the shell is duplicated, you can hardly tell the difference between original and fake. They can look 100% alike.

Bro, anyone with good printer can easily print the card, I give you 3D printer also you can't replicate a watch.

Of course I know counterfeit product exist, but that is not what ordinary ppl can simply do at home.

I just read a rapper bought it for record price. Then he said he used to not be able to afford Pokémon cards coz he was too poor.

Now he is buying them coz it's like a form of triumph over his poor past.

you can try lor.. But nobody is going to buy your fake card without a PSA or backett grading. You will need to send your card to a official grading centre, where they will determine whether your card is counterfeit or original. If you managed to print up to original standards and fool the grading centre, well congrats.. you have officially created a money printing machine.
