Yes especially if you have to work hard for your money.

Thought the MCO would kill off all these bad and junk places but does not seem to me that it has done so in sufficient numbers.

yes it does looks good on Instagram, but the taste is -1

like this one cafe near teck ming sunway. went there last week to change tyre, since got many customers I decided to walk a bit for drink. surprisingly the delhi boys are manning the restaurant now and I dont see any local staff there.

the spaghetti I had is like _____________ and the latte is , well, ok but price wise not reflected the quality

but I realized the cafe's customers mainly are those sunway uni kids so...

again, not worth for second visit.

Malaysia no longer commands a good cafe or food culture. I have generally stopped following food reviews or food blogs as most have become gibberish junk. It is as bad as the car review scene in this country, most if not all are scripted by the person paying the bill.

Any cafes near a private college will never be good. Much of them rely on bank of FAMA to roll or provide the initial capital and their customer base also tends to be FAMA money. 90% of these types of patrons do not complaint if the quality is not reflective of the price or service levels are abysmal at best and this in turn basically allows these types of restaurateurs a carte blanche to serve rubbish food at over inflated prices.

Money laundering is definitely big in this industry, at one point I was told by a DSP that at least 70% of all eateries are very cleverly hidden money laundering operations.

That's the reason why I rarely ever travel anywhere for food or even bother trying out new food places.

Better to eat at home or go back to the tried and tested places even if it means a further drive.

In 5 years it would no longer be hot air that Singapore has better food than Malaysia.
