Yeah, I do think its a minor upgrade. There's one thing I would like Nokia to fix. The camera shutter release button. The button features a 2-step press so that you can half-press to focus and then a further press would release the shutter. It seems that this button is extremely easy to be half-pressed, accidentally waking up the phone during standby where the LCD is shut-off.

Not sure if it is affecting battery life performance but I would like the phone to keep on standby with LCD off as long as possible when I'm not using it. Maybe they could fix this by ignoring the button during standby? Maybe...
Agree. VGA resolution is 640x480 while QVGA resolution is 320x240. 50% lower resolution with the same aspect ratio. Then again it doesn't mean you get lower picture quality on the K850i. Lower resolution doesn't always mean lower quality (but first resolution must be at a sufficient level for this to hold any ground, depending on screen size and distance from viewing). If you plan to playback videos mainly on the K850i's screen with a native resolution of 320x240, then the QVGA recording will be just nice. The 30fps frame rate is what matters. You'll get a smoother playback with higher frame rate. Playback on the N95 with a VGA recorded video will be just as nice. Of course with the higher resolution smacked onto its 320x240 LCD, pixels will be densely pack so you might get perception of a little more detail. Maybe thats why Nokia advertised the N95 with 'DVD-like playback'.

If you want to playback the recorded video to an external display device like a TV, monitor screen or forward as an email attachment, the QVGA source will be smaller than the VGA one. Thats when the VGA recorded video will stand out. Basically QVGA is a little small for internet sharing. I think Youtube is using 640x480 resolutions.

huh?so N95 has QVGA or VGA screen??

well...from the look of its build...it does seem that this new N95 has bigger screen. look at the front piece that fully covers the back piece of the phone. ours didnt fully cover it.so i guess its shud be bigger.the main draw back is that its camera doesnt hav lens cover

Added on August 23, 2007, 10:56 amFor the 8GB edition.. it look begger..  look at our N95... the screen part of the phone do not cover up to the very far left/right ..  we still can notice the back cover(plum color) even though we look from the front of the phone..

the 8GB version.. the front screen slide totally cover up to the extreme end..  no longer can notice by the back cover from front..
