There is going to be a new firmware update for Nokia N95 this coming december which is v21.0.001, it is already released for beta testers, well some major improvements are the increased value of available RAM and the option of Demand Paging and more

try and update it. if it shows the latest is v12 then use NSS ( Nemisis Service Suite) to change the product code, yes you can back up using that

Just use PC Suite to back up. Everything that's on the phone memory will be backed up.
