after updated with the new firmware, i didnt notice any improvement in term of overall speed but:

1. bootup time increased a lot.

2. BATTERY LIFE!! with just 2 bars left, i basically keep keypad and mess with the menu for more than 3.5 hrs. it still running O_O
battery life really improved.

why those "office", "connect", etc stuck inside folder? why oh why it cant be moved to ROOT folder....

overall, i really like this firmware. but the annoying shutter sound still intact vmad.gif
*
added one special Beep sound before the Shuttle sound come out.. doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

there is 4 different shuttle sound for us to choose from.. I wonder any body can access to this 4 tone and replace one of them with a Silent tone to fool the phone... laugh.gif donno where to access this...

I guess I'm a bit late on this new firmware but I'll definitely update it tonight biggrin.gif

The pain to endure is that I'll have to re-install all the apps again and btw, how do I get my sms backed up?

Added on November 28, 2007, 2:02 pmkaylong, I did it once before and the replaced fonts were fugly so I reverted to original. If I remember correctly, you have to copy 4 files with different extension in order to get it working. I can't relatively remember the file extensions but I will let you know once I get home.
*
if u figure out how to restore back the sms.. let me know..

with PC suit.. I can see my sms in PC while I attached my phone... but I can't see any of my sms in my phone... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

I'd just update my firmware... now all the application and games I installed not workig.. and I cannot remove it from the phone also.. wat can I do??? can I reformat my memory card????
*
QUOTE(elfyong @ Nov 30 2007, 01:53 PM)
Ya, reformat your card will be a good way, but backup using content copier first loh...

Added on November 30, 2007, 1:57 pm
So "chim", basically it's some underclocking techniques for low processing power needed application.
that's why music playback time can increase up to ~7++ hours now from ~5++hours, standby time as well
*
most people will recommend u to format ur card.. but u can solve it the other way...

but u can try the way I done... re-install the same application again to ur memory... it will super impose the old one and it will work again..... if u have problem certifying.. set ur date to maybe 1 year back.. it should be work fine for most of ur application.. thanks..

GPS can deplete $$$? i thought is not using any gprs/edge or watsoever since it is using its own signal and its free?
*
QUOTE(schizophrenic @ Dec 2 2007, 11:46 PM)
yea didnt had such trouble
always use A GPS and i do not have any charges whatsoever for gprs/3g (data)

Added on December 2, 2007, 11:47 pm
strange....
do you have a previous copy installed? if yes, backup the relevant stuff like maps, etc and uninstall it. then install the new one.
I do not know other solution as I have yet to encounter such a problem installing garmin.
*
when u set ur phone not to use 3G/EDGE for downloading data.. so it won't charge u... GPS signal is free... downloading Map/Data using 3G/EDGE are chargable.. but if u are using WIFI to do this.. it is also free......

Better not...Phone is something that can be easily conned...If you don't check properly, NOKLA can look really alike as the NOKIA...Search NOKLA on youtube and you'll know...

Rule of thumb, get at least an AP set if you're not too keen on checking the phone if it's realdeal, or best stick to authorized set. nod.gif
There's a thread pinned on the Handphones and Communications section, read more on it.

For AP, there're a lot more things to work on like checking the firmware, battery, accessory etc etc...AP warranty is not so trusted...I also bought AP set but I virtually treat it as no warranty set...

Also, you might not like the operator logo printed extra on the phones like Vodafone, TIM, etc etc...
*
I have planty of rumours and source about Custom handphone bla bla..

not long ago just one selling Nokia 6300 @ RM500... custom again.. but they said it have 2 speaker at the back instead of the original 6300.. only 1.. wow.. improve version.. after google it.. China Nok1A 6300.. look almost indentical.. cool..

I agree that buying an AP = Virtually no warranty at all...

I have read many blog about to tighten N95.Which one did u make?
*
I tried 2 attempt... first.. bend the bracket.. but I can't bend the bracket evenly.. so I switch to the tape one... just stick a layer of tape to the bracket.. make the bracket thicker n screw it back.. to force the top slide closer to the lower slide.. .. it work.. smile.gif

i try to connect a WIFI(WEP), there is nothing wrong with the key cos i know the key.

it keeps prompt me on WEB NO GATEWAY REPLY.
*
try not to key in the WEP when it ask... instead of go to the setting.. create a setup .. enter every single setting manually..

I can't connect to my wireless router while I key in when it prompt to ask... but I can connect without problem after I done the setting manually...
