Easy, MSI B550 Tomahawk icon_idea.gif

...or the ASUS TUF B550-Plus ( https://www.lazada.com.my/products/asus-tuf...fw1sui&search=1 )

The B550 Aorus Elite are good too:
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/gigabyte...HTAcbT&search=1

Alternatively, the MSI B550A-Pro/B550 Gaming Plus are good too:
https://shopee.com.my/MSI-MPG-B550-GAMING-P...2673.6950814201

The ASRock B550 Steel Legend is also a good choice as well icon_idea.gif

Pick the one that has the feature set you want; all boards I've mentioned have good VRMs which should handle a 5950X without much issues icon_idea.gif

I also thinking to pre-order 5600x..

For me i prefer matx. Not sure if Asrock B550m pro4 will be enough? Choose among this and asrock B550m steel legend

I think 5600x will need better cooler.. I think scyther Mugen 5 rev b looks good..

I think to be on the safe side just get the one with the beefiest vrm aka the b550 tomahawk. I suspect this zen 3 will run a little hotter than the previous gen.

Nahh should be just about same, still all the same, even the IO die still 12nm @GF.

CCD also pretty much the same, they just moved the GMI down to have all 8 cores close to each other (so they can access the cache better).
That should concentrate heat differently marginally... but that's about it.

The only reason why it might really run hotter is cuz ur new GPU is more demanding biggrin.gif

As I will reuse my Tecware Alpha TG (matx). I also considerer MSI mortar.
But the numbers of USB on B550m Mortar really let me down. I really like B450m Mortar Max.
The performance should be comparable to Tomahawk.
Maybe the have to wait until ppl test the actual processor only will know which to get..

In a conflict.. Maybe just pre-order the processor but only buy the mobo later.. XD

It's a 65W TDP chip so I wouldn't worry too much, the B550M Pro4 VRMs are actually quite robust to say the least (the VRMs of the Pro4 are essentially the cut down variant of their X570 boards) icon_idea.gif

If you are only plan to use a 5600X and no other Zen 3 chips then the B550M Pro4 should be fine, otherwise you should go for the B550M Steel Legend/TUF B550M-Plus if you intend to upgrade them to a 5900X/5950X in the future icon_idea.gif

Thanks for the advice notworthy.gif

Do you think Gen3 will have day 1 BIOS support?
if need to flash BIOS then will have issue with these board already. Have to go with the TUF or Mortax
Maybe they will come out version like Mortar Max in the future.

Yup, on B550/X570 boards icon_idea.gif

It should have something like the Ryzen 5000 ready sticker on the box, just like the launch of Ryzen 3000 chips icon_idea.gif

Just completed my 5600X build using an Asrock B550 Steel Legend ATX mobo.

Had a lot of grief because Windows refused to install.

After a whole day of cursing I realized that the mobo was released just before any of the Zen 3 CPUs rolled off the production lines, so it didn't even recognize the CPU.

Had to flash and update the BIOS, only after that Windows would install.

If anyone runs into the same problem, there's the solution.

Yeah, it depends on whether the B550 was manufactured relatively recently so it has updated firmware that can recognise Zen 3 processors.

Older stock with outdated BIOS needs to be flashed first. Some B550s can be updated without a processor, power the mobo and connect a FAT32 USB drive with the BIOS and press a mobo button to update. But for other motherboards you might need to use an older processor to boot the PC first.
