You guys are lucky wei.

I just bought the C716 via shopee and man, I'm having a nightmare. First one came with those grey dots towards the bottom half (ignore quality -resized picture) and seller was nice to ship another one.

2nd one, seems like used model. Bottom of tv can see markings that the leg have been screwed on, all the legs and remote controller packets were open and worst of all, the screen cracked.

Was so excited initially but now have to go and pack both TVs back to the seller for refund, potong stim. As much as I want to try TCL C716, I think I'll go back to Sony or Samsung. Hope you guys have better luck than me. I don't have much faith in TCL quality or maybe I damn unlucky la.

I'm undergoing through the refund process now and they seem to be providing good responsive service and their rating pretty good in Shopee.

I'll see how it goes but the seller claims they've not open that 2nd unit before and is pointing the fingers towards the supplier, TCL Malaysia as they sold it as it is.

So for now, I won't name them gua but I damn phobia from buying this kind of items via Shopee now.

Edit: Don't think I will buy anything from this seller anymore. Good in sales but poor in after sales service. Said will arranged pick up on 8 Feb, no one pick up and messaged them. Seller said will check. Followed up with them on 9 Feb, no reply for both messages hours apart.

Also, I don't think you can rate a seller or comment once you select a refund process. Only if you confirmed the purchase then you can.

u bough from official store at shopee?

Wanted to buy from official seller but they don't have stock for 65" so bought from another seller (Pahang). Other than the models shipped, I would say their service is pretty good la.

If I buy small items next time, I don't mind buying from them.

honestly i cant tell what the defect the white screen is.
mind telling me what to look out for?

Oh I will just return it back to the seller, a bit fed up already with this experience.

The seller asked me to go through a screen test via a youtube link with a few screen colours, so those dots and that line across in the middle below the dots, always there no matter what.

From the seller confirmed there's issue with the panel so he sent another one but I don't have luck la haha.

I didn't see any complain on shopee on Pahang seller 65C716 TV.
As I know ,seller is OK guy (I bought from him also).
To check if TV is used before, can check hours in service menu....In the picture settings
menu, choose "Contrast" and at this point type: 6425.....under - Running Time

Another thing, what is  software version installed in replacement (second) TV?

Btw,
packing (box) has been untouched, before you open ?
Is very unusuall that in both packing have this.

Edit:
Your both picture is from first TV.
Second TV ...no picture.

Yea, I didn't see any complaints about this seller and service was also good.

The first unit confirm new and box was clean - there is no marking at the bottom when I'm attaching the legs, all the packets (2 x legs and the remote/ manual) were intact. Only issue is those 6 dots and one line across. This one the run time is like brand new.

The 2nd unit - this is the one I was doubtful and the box was damn dirty. Got markings like as if the legs were attached before, all the packets had small holes enough to take the remote or legs. This unit I didn't bother switching it on cos once I lift the plastic sheet of it, it was cracked already.

The problem with the TCL TV box is that there is no certainty the box is not opened before unless those previous customers open it like me, where I use a blade to cut the top part of the box (there is no need for this step at all actually). Once you cut off that plastic strap thing around the box (which you can get it anywhere), you can already slide the Top Half of the box upwards and play with the TV parts already.

I honestly don't think the seller would do this la (there's no benefit for him) and maybe the unit he received was already a bad/ used one. Like what I said, if I buy smaller items I would go to him too. But for fragile items like TV etc. then I think I will just go to a shop instead. I initially tried looking for shops that display the TCL716 units but cannot find any.

I spent quite long actually convincing the missus to go for TCL cos she's those generic Samsung/ Sony type and needs to see a product in life before buying. Then manatau now, backfire haha.

These are the pictures of the 2nd set.

Yea, you have just bad luck.... unsure.gif
So,what is your status now?
Sort thing by seller or by TCL ?
*
yea sad.gif

Going back to seller for refund, don't dare to try another one for now. But can see his response speed drop a lot compared to before now that I'm getting a refund.

Hopefully all goes smooth with the refund. Then once I get it, I will probably have to go for Sony X8000H but will buy from those physical KL shops that have their own lorry to deliver cos this screen crack also don't know whether cos of GDex.

But that bezel on that Sony quite puke.gif . Cannot fight with the TCL design and too bad TCL not popular here yet.

You should keep first (delivered) TV and call (email) TCL service ,
as @smaelz83 get replaced screen in a few days.
*
He had to send the TV back to them ar for this? I think nvm la, very hard to convince my wife already.

On a good note, my wife might allow me to increase budget to buy the Sony X9000h but a lot of physical shops no stock.

Anyway no fate for me but good that others are able to enjoy it! At this price point, nothing beats it for the specs you get.

There is whatsapp number 012-9708123 on TCL Malaysia Service Page.

Use that number to claim warranty.

I have issue after two months using 50inch C716. See my post.

I am glad their response is fast after send picture and purchase details.

BOLD Part: TCL technician come and collect the tv, factory at Port Klang replace the panel. Technician send the TV back at my place. Turn ON and confirm that everything is good. 3 days total (2 1/2 days without TV)
*
That's quite fast though to get it fixed but it's ok we have selected the refund anyway so will ship back one TV to seller myself and one he will arrange with GDex to collect tomorrow.

One thing I was surprised with after I did a factory reset to clear my personal login data from the initial access, was that the runtime actually resets to 0. I always thought it can only be done if it gets sent back to manufacturer or service centre. Therefore, there is really no 100% certainty that we get new units actually. I guess it really boils down to luck.

Where you check runtime ?

In service menu or About/Status ?

Service menu
user posted image

Edit:
Every restart manually/Quick Start OFF or reset by TV setting.... in About/Status ..Up Time will be also reset.
Cumulative RunTime only/always running in Service menu and can't be reset.
*
Oh yea, you're right about the Up time reset.

I have just searched your old post and managed to access the service menu now to check out of curiosity and it's definitely way longer than what I have it up for. Plus I only got the TV last Tuesday afternoon, even if I were to switch it on 24 hours from then, it wouldn't be able to reach 8 days also.

Is this cumulative RunTime normal for a new TV or is it used/ returned unit?

Way to much....it's mean had been used before at least for 1 week.

Then I'm really glad I'm returning both units to him including the cracked screen one. I don't know whether it's the manufacturer or that seller now but I just pity the next person getting it.

I'll make sure I search for the service menu first and access the Cumulative RunTime next time when I get a new TV.

Ok will do as suggested for the resets, thanks a lot!

This Running time is for first TV or second cracked screen TV ?
*
First one (received on Tuesday) but I didn't use much also after that.

2nd one (received on Thursday) is the cracked one. That one, I never bother to switch on at all. The moment I open the box, all packets were opened already then, the TV screen was also cracked so just put back inside the box straight. Never plug in cos no point.

I just added my post with Running time pic.
10D:18h.....after having my TV for 18 days with running and testing almost day and night haha.

Wah you must have done a lot la to clock in so much in so short time.

Sigh, ok.. certified no luck for me with this good TV. Need to go cleanse a bit haha. Thanks all, I'll sign out from here unless I do get one from another seller with physical shop in KL/PJ. Still thinking to wait for May for new tvs in or get this or the Sony.
