Sorry to be busy body here.
In my opinion is matter of taste.
In youtube alot of comparison between Hisense and TCL tv due to the pricing and specifications offered.
Typically Hisense seem like providing higher spec in paper but come to actual use you have to consider Hisense color is too vivid and also brighter.
I find it somewhat make human lips 💋 colour look funny (atleast on my old 49K300UW).
Since you are asking here TCL thread, I would ask you to consider Android TV from TCL has better support and upgrade then Hisense and the rest of branding.
Importantly is
It is matter of your taste, I would prefer Android TV.
My Hisense dont have any update with VIDAA and the OS do have very limited app or functionality.
Lastly QLED and LED, that not really a big advantage to many. In technical it has more smaller LED (not the controller) that give you better contrast between true black and bright area. In which QLED should give you lesser bright shadows.
In most case you even wont notice.
Just my 2 cents here. It is okay to disagree with it.
For others who read this, just to share with you if are considering P715 & C716.
I owned a C716 for few months now, and recently I have replaced my another Hisense TV with P715.
I cant really can observe any different between P715 and C716 on my usage with Netflix, youtube, IQIYI and WETV.
P715 locate in bedroom and C716 in living room.
My conclusion QLED is not really a must have specification.
You are always welcome to busybody 😀
OS is one of the considerations, but I didn't weight it too much on decision making. I just need plex, youtube, Netflix. & easily hook with android box for android TV, if the Vidda outdated.
Both supported HDR standard seems equal.
Both model got quantum dot , hence my comparison.
How good is U800QF local dimming, I really don't have experience to comment, my best relative conparison is rtings on H9G (assume close to that model)
Colorwise, I believe TV model at this range can be fine tune so some extend. Idk,

It's different TV all together. Hisense U800QF is a FALD Qled TV with high peak brightness and TCL C716 is a Qled TV without FALD and much lower peak brightness. What I dislike is Hisense is not an Android TV. Hisense U800QF is a better TV for HDR content and also more expensive...around 1k price difference.
Thanks for the input. So if OS & the price different is not a concern, which of these two is you take?

It's excatly what @kfthoo stated.
Yup, Android 11 will enable Atmos on Netflix (this year).

C725....

The support & firmware update is why I am considering C716. I only knew got so support & update frequency from your post in this thread.
By any chance, have you come across support site for U800QF?
Btw, to who may concern, I come from 5yo panasonic FHD smart TV with chromecast v2. No HRD, no 4K. So both 2 model above is a huge jump from current position.
I'm audiophile, so TV sound sound quality is not major concern (but welcome addition for lower power consumption) as it is connected to receiver & 5.1 setup.
So im intention is to replace this TV & forget about upgrade urge for another 5years.
