It was a gesture during a time where they can afford 1 month per year of service as compensation. Some bank i believe even gave 1.5 or 2 months per year of service iirc.

Now that most company cant afford, they will just follow the law which is non existent for most of us who does not fall under the labor law.

So the only thing you would get is probably the salary for notice period and any balance on the annual leave.
