Ok.. thanks. Budget is under Rm1000. I'm currently eying the a570 but was suggested the a630.

yea 570IS is definitely a good choice. 570IS runs on digic 3, features 9 point face detection and faster processing time, while 630 based on digic 2, no face detection and no image stabilization

Now time to start looking for good prices...

The only good thing about 630 is flip-able display, which i don't think worth the extra bucks, but cud be useful for you. The bigger sensor is just useless, which doesn't give any improvement on the image + cost you extra bucks.

So i reckon 570, cheaper and come with IS, which might be an overated feature, but it helps, why not.
