Is that I have to keep worrying about my disc getting scratched. I have no idea my discs gets scratch after playing for long time. I do clean my PS2 every now and then to prevent dust but alas, they still get scratch. I know removing/putting the disc in CD pouch might scratch a bit but I think most of the time it's scratched inside my PS2.

Man these disc are not cheap! In the end I try to restrain myself from playing the game too much. Yea it probably still works even with some scratch but one day...

Well the fact that games are expensive (at least to me) and normally you would buy one copy and that getting the original ones ain't that easy here.

Come on, imagine you have a shirt or trousers that you really like, it wears and tears, but somehow you find no other shirt or trousers can beat them. But you only got one set of them, and you like it so much that you wear em everyday. It's not a Levis but something like a Guchi or Prada and your not a millionaire, and somehow the shirt or trousers are no longer in production, what would you do? But please bear in mind shirt & trousers are more easily worn out by physical damage & washing machine, DVD are pron to physical damage but shouldn't be inside a player or machine.

Oh and I have the Slim PS2 and I put it horizontally. Before I was using the fat one, also horizontally. Both machine did and do scratch my ori disc, and all starts from tiny scratches.

I guess I better play the backup if it's a really long game then... I tried wiping off the dust inside the machine, the only thing i didn't use is those sprayer that suppose to clean electronics.

original shudnt be getting much of a problem here now, rite?

er... maybe ther isnt any shirt and trousers i really like? even i wear it oftenly, i will wear it until its gone case, be it gucci or prada, even if its no longer in production so? u keep it and frame it would be ideal biggrin.gif

If your saying it's not so difficult to get original games, yea, perhaps for PS3, XBOX360 & Wii. But there isn't much source locally that offers original PS2/PS1 games, not to mention with the correct region ver, and most older, not so famous games are quite impossible to find.

If your saying original shouldn't give you scratch problems, or scratches that you can consider it damaged, your wrong.

So if your saying even if you play an ori game often, until it's gone case, out of production, too expensive to rebuy, you keep it and frame it? I think your the kind of gamer that always go for new & latest & never look back to older games. Bear in mind there are many people who still play older games.

So I guess the only solution is to purchase multiple copies of a game if we think we might play it on and on till it wears, but to be honest most people wouldn't buy extra copies even if it's a cheap homebrew version.

Yes my older scph 30000 PS2 also got scratching disc problem after using around 3 years.(all my games were original),then I have no choice but stop playing it for a while cause scare all my precious babies got hurt.
Then finally buy another scph 50000 something Asia machine and it work fine till now.

End up my Sony console mostly got 2 cause the first one usually got problem. 2 PS1,2 PS2 and PSP not really count since i actually sold my black one to get a white one.
Hope my PS3 doesn't end up like this lol.Long time no touch it liao and still playing PS2 games recently.

I only used my Silver Big PAL PS2 for a while, later i bought the slim PS2. The big one scratch a little on my discs, but I'm using the slim one since it's mobile enough. My old CD console also tends to scratch disc, same goes for my DVD player and the PC i used to use. I guess prior to PS2 I mistreated my disc by cleaning them using the wrong method, my i cannot deny that the machines did scratch em.

I raised this question coz in overseas boards people keep telling me CD aint supposed to be scratched while playing.
