Just would like to know what happen if we did not perform the buyback after selling (IDSS) on the same day ?

You can't do IDSS until next year. Bursa has suspended IDSS. Let me know if you are an investment banker because investment bankers are allowed to short the market. Shorting the market is like obtaining margin. You are "borrowing" someone's share and you are expected to buy lower. If you don't buy lower, you're expected to pay up a hefty fee, which I haven't really looked into it yet. I think Malaysia has a very lame system for shorting unlike the US market.

Called the investment for further info dee. Yes, suspended until end of this year. If you did not perform the buyback on the same day, they will charge you 10 bits of the closing day. Which is not very favorable as it's force buy. Only can trade on those high volume. Those low volume which the pricing didn't move much in a day does not suitable for idss

Check with your broker la.
Most likely broker will force close at 4:45pm.
IIRC, you need to explain to BNM why you never close and there is overnight fee.

Interesting. I asked my remisier and she told me that institutional funds are allowed to short.
