Am seriously considering getting a Samsung Phone. I usually buy my phones over the counter but due to the CMCO, can really go to my usual places.
The thing is most sellers on lazada say the box will be opened for checking and warranty registration before shipping, something which I am sceptical about. I see many reviews of warranty being registered earlier than the purchase date.
The official Samsung store on Lazada does not seem to reply to my inquires about this as well.
Is it normal for sellers to do warranty registration? Can the buyers do it instead?
Do you guy have any trusted/recommended online sellers that don't have such requirements?
Much appreciate any feedback.
I will shared my experience of getting a Samsung phone from Samsung official store Lazada 11.11 sale last year.
Yes, the box will be opened for warranty registration if you buy a phone from Samsung official store. Normally, the warranty will start from the date before you received the phone. (Look at the picture that I attached below) You will need to call Samsung and ask them how to register for your new phone warranty. They will give you a email address for you and you will need to email your personal information like name, address, phone model, imei number those stuff including the invoice (see lah whether you take picture or scan and convert to pdf like me) to the email address that they provide. After few hours or few days you will received an email from Samsung Malaysia and they will tell that your E-warranty has been successfully registered and the warranty will follow from the date you purchased your phone. You also can double check by sending a SMS to 62002 (got charges) like me see whether the warranty date has been updated or not.
Hope this clarifies your queries.
