since my friends all started class, i took a 3 day tour to the grampians. for 138 aus dollars, it's a 1 day guided tour and 2 nights accommodation at a youth hostel. it's pretty reasonable but car renting with friends is still cheaper and gives you more flexibility

grampians is the home to alot of wildlife especially kangaroos.active during dawn and dusk , i saw as many as 100 at one time.

grampians is basically covered with mountain ranges, about 5 of them and there are quite a few nice lookout points. the big bush fire last year wiped out alot of the trees, giving a clear view of everything. the smell of burnt wood remains though and many hiking trails are still closed.
