There are only a few differences between these two dslr

1. Megapixel
2. lcd screen
3. af points
4. cmos sensor cleaning

So which do u think is better to go for..400D or 350D?

Please state your reason why too.? thanks.

if i m not mistaken

350d 8mps vs 400d 10mps (doesnt really makes the different since u will resize it in the end of the day if u r posting online laugh.gif )
350d small screen (the pics will still b displayed on the screen smile.gif )
350d no sensor cleaning (not really useful n sumore increase batt. consumption sweat.gif )
350d got less af points (no comment ...7afs is sufficient enough i think tongue.gif )

350d got less noise at high iso than 400d
350d is way cheaper than 400d

in conclusion, if ur budget is rather tight, u might 1 2 purchase 350d n use the balance to purchase other stuffs smile.gif

Oh my god this old discussion is back again biggrin.gif hehehe...Joking only bro. Actually half year ago i was also doing the same comparison like you...(in fact till today still alot ppl doing this)...lasttime price between 350D and 400D was like RM700-900 different BUT now only like RM300-500 different.

I end up 400D and never regret since i like it's bigger LCD. I know ppl will said bigger LCD consump more battery and etc la but DSLR not like compact cam rely all time to the LCD mah...Cleaning sensor consider bonus la since some review said it not really "work" but i dun care sweat.gif

"350d got less noise at high iso than 400d" << this is NOT TRUE.

@derek

Conclusion is, if you got extra cash to spend, go for the 400D. If you're on a tight budget, the 350D is for you. In fact the current market price for the 350D is a steal..

give a 350D and 400D to 1 photographer,at the end of the day, u most probably wun be able to tell which photo is shot with 350D or 400D, the rest is just additional features that can be had, but is not essential to live with, all depends on your pocket.

I definately second on what u said. wink.gif
There's actually not much different in terms of picture quality for both cams generally.. Trust me on this! biggrin.gif
350D or 400D.. both are quite similar.. the thing that will differentiate those two cams will actually be the LENSES that u use and the person behind the cams. Get a good lens paired with 350D, then u might have a good picture, probably better than 400D. Put a good photographer behind 350D, u can get a good pictures than a normal user/photogs behind a 400D.. In the end, it will depends on u urself.. Got some extra cash, go for 400D for the sensor cleaning thingy and of cos, the 2inch LCD. If not, better to settle for 350D if u can think of buying other accs from the RM300 extras. about the mp thingy.. well.. some pll dont care much bout that nowadays.. biggrin.gif

Obsolete stuff doesn't mean it's not good.. At that price it's a steal. New stuff doesnt mean it's the best.

Only 1 reason still makes 400D definitely better - bigger LCD. You'll regret the purchase of 350D if anytime after the shoot you check with the LCD and think it's sharp enough but then download pic to your computer and see a lots out focus.
Small screen makes it hard to see something wrong with your pic

Gotta agree with you. The big screen on 400D is tempting but kind of troublesome for me. I prefer the old status screen of 350D.

Put it this way, EVERY camera becomes obselete some day, so which one are you going to buy? Do like me, buy a 2002 model camera in 2007 laugh.gif

Really, get the latest model your budget allows you to, no point getting a about-to-discontinue model today unless you're very SURE you NEED that model, like me. I bought the EOS 1D 1 year ago becoz I know I can never buy the latest model, and I need each and every bit of its function, and much much more. If your budget allows you to get the 400D today, just go get it ... before it becomes obselete soon (again)!
