Put it this way, EVERY camera becomes obselete some day, so which one are you going to buy? Do like me, buy a 2002 model camera in 2007
 Really, get the latest model your budget allows you to, no point getting a about-to-discontinue model today unless you're very SURE you NEED that model, like me. I bought the EOS 1D 1 year ago becoz I know I can never buy the latest model, and I need each and every bit of its function, and much much more.
