Unfortunately you can't get it in Singapore. Even the original HomePod wasn't available in Singapore. Source

At footnote:
Pricing and Availability
Customers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Spain, the UK, and the US are able to order HomePod mini beginning at 5 a.m. PST on Friday, November 6, with availability beginning the week of November 16. HomePod mini will be available in China, Mexico, and Taiwan later this year.

I always wanted and HomePod but the current model is just too expensive to swallow. Mini price looks good....

Ya, will be getting one from HK.

Mini uses the normal usb c 20w adapter according to info, which means you can use a macbook adapter to power it.

i see. what is the connector used for the homepod? usb-c or lighting?

i may buy a homepod mini to use during sale. homepod always got promo which is selling at USD199 a lot of time instead of original price at resellers.

think homepod mini can be cheaper.

For homepod, it's just the normal US plug, I use a cheap adapter to convert it to the 3 pin UK. I'm thinking of getting another homepod too, want to make it stereo.

Yeah... but if you calculate... 400 bucks + RM100 sirim charge + duties + shipping, that fella earn maybe 20-30% margin only... what to do, HomePod too big... this one good compromise for me

Just received my HomePod Mini. Ordered from Hong Kong and friend delivered for RM 20. The sound quality is underwhelming compared to the original HomePod. I bought the HomePod mini for RM400 and previously a full size HomePod for RM750. I would say go for the HomePod if you have the space and doesn’t need thread.
I am getting the Nanoleaf Essential Lightbulb to test with thread so I guess I'm keeping it.
The sound quality is less than 40% of the original HomePod. If you had heard an original HomePod, this does not sound like it at all -> Closer to a Google Nest Mini.

Ha!? I see.

Then will see the sound quality of the HomePod mini that is coming to me soon to decide whether there is a need to buy another unit for stereo sound or to buy a HomePod if it cannot meet the needs.

I got a HomePod from Canada and brought it back.

The Apple Music doesn't really work with my Malaysian Apple Music.

I signed up for Apple Music Canada and it works here too.

But once I switched back to Apple Music Malaysia, I can only stream music like any other app does. Like Spotify

I cannot use any functions that Apple Music provides to HomePod. Like play during playlists. Or other like 'Play Soothing Sounds'.

SUCKS!

I wish Apple can get better here in Malaysia.

But I feel it will never happened...

InsyaAllah, a miracle might happen.

p.s. If I am wrong, please teach me how to fix it. Thanks. thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

It is not supposed to work I think. Even lion city does not have HomePod selling. It is really a product that is for selected market now.

I dun intend to use it with Apple Music since I do not have Apple Music subscription anyway. Will just stick to airplay from YouTube or Spotify or anything other thing instead.

Iphone Country = USA, AppleID acocunt = Malaysia, Apple Music account = Malaysia,

I can summon Homepod to play music via Siri directly from my Apple music account

Might not be Apple Music then. It just doesn't help me play the genres or the playlists. It keeps saying it cannot connect to my library.

I guess it's just my own phone problem.

Thanks for pointing that out. I can fix it then. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

AiHome? I checked with their Mid Valley branch earlier and they’re selling the original HomePod at 1.7k, a little too expensive because I saw a seller selling it at only 1.2k on Shopee & Lazada.

Follow up question. Earlier i was using the “connect to” feature on the iPhone youtube app to push a video to an android tv with youtube app installed. Surprisingly, i could turn off the screen and the video would continue to play on the tv.

Once again i am not on youtube premium subscription.

Any idea why this would work while airdrop cant?

the sound quality definitely is really good for the rm500 price tag. Very little distortion. The sound quality you expect from top of the range apple pro range device.

I'm going to buy another one to form a stereo pair.

very good speakers.

i hate most speakers around with strong bass only but without clear and crisp vocal.

homepod mini is good for this department totally.

better than any JBL speakers which are the 2nd in my list.

i'm impressed with the sound quality for a Rm500+/- speaker especially coming from Apple.

The only problem i have with this homepod mini is the transferring music from phone to mini(or vice versa). sometimes it works and sometimes doesn't which is not consistent.

I think they’re going to launch new model by the next Apple event instead to update on the U1 chip.

I bought twice (single homepod mini at a time) and so far not being taxed. They said item valued Rm500 and above might get taxed. Maybe other forumers can share more info on that.

Yup, doesn’t make sense to discon it when its the flagship model that supports most of the bells and whistles - unlike the minis.

Apple confirmed via TechCrunch the OG homepod will go. With the rising popularity of the mini, I hope it will be sold here officially.. Rm399 maybe?

So far so good. Quite responsive, not really have noticeable delay.

Really a good buy. The sound quality is superb.

Now deciding whether to buy another one to use as stereo.

Okay, because I found if I airplay youtube video from my MacBook Air to homepod min. There will be a slight delay if I skip & forward the video.

Do you guys also subscribe to the Apple Music?

Slight delay is normal initially, after that it will be normal.

Find it acceptable, considered very responsive liao.

I do not subscribe to Apple Music. Only airplay content to it.

Do u use two minis or just one?

I'm a bit disappointed with the discontinuation of the HomePod OG. I have 2, one in living room and one in master bedroom. I haven't got the HomePod mini yet but I don't really see how it can match up to the OG especially in a largish room. Having said that, I'll definitely be getting minis for my kids' rooms.

i did not own the homepod original.

homepod mini space grey is my first homepod, i use it to listen to music, sound quality is superb.
i bought a brand new homepod original from hk after the news of discontinuition to keep it as a collection. haven't opened it yet. but damn heavy and bigger than homepod mini. haha. i am sure the sound will be even better than homepod mini.

how come I cannot airplay to my HomePod mini from my macOS high sierra directly using the airplay button inside macOS or the apps inside macOS as per what I can do with my iPhones?

I can only use the volume button to select the output device as HomePod mini and output the sound to it? and it end up acts like the external speakers of my MacBook Pro? is it normal???

shopee / lazada have some reputable sellers, ~RM460, mostly comes with UK plug (which already cost RM99)
if buying US version the plug cannot be use in Malaysia unless attach converter

~RM460 basically justify USD99 (if you buy from oversea and ship back added shipping cost)

The original HomePod is no longer selling at apple. I supposed if u want to get now is only via third parties who have remaining stocks or used unit.

I myself bought one before it is sold out at apple HK website for collection purpose. Not going to use it.

Happy with the HomePod mini I have now.

Just arrived. Fast delivery. It's the real thing. Total damage: RM382.

Got it from here: https://www.lazada.com.my/products/apple-ho...8934198554.html?

First impressions. So tiny.

hk one no need. it is the same as lion city or bolehland one.
order from hk and deliver here is the most trustworthy way but the shipment fee will be higher though. and it may incur SST too.

Yeah, MY, normal lah but quite surprised that SG also not selling the HomePods.

I bought from Mint seller (from Laz but Shopee also got the same seller), they gave me HK unit. It came in the original Apple outside brown box packing. They just stuck a J&T label on it.

ic. that's good.

i bought it immediately when homepod mini was launched from best buy - US site (not even the apple US website). becos almost most US website do not accept credit cards that are not issued in US. i tried quite hard then manage to buy it that time. and homepod mini was out of stocks for quite a while when it first launched.

it is a great speaker. i was trying out many brands to find a speaker that can meet my needs but was out of luck.
I always like ths sounds on all the apple devices including this homepod.
i am very particular about the clarity of vocals of a speaker. but most brands speaker is having very strong bass but poor vocals which i do not like.
apple one is good becos the bass is good enough but again the vocal is very clear.

So far historically, we didn't even get any HomePod products.

Gonna lurk at Sirim database and see if we got luck this time around or not laugh.gif

Yeah so I don't expect Malaysia to get it either laugh.gif

Wait either shopee or my HK friend to help me.

Blue color looks good and seems like a decent X'mas gift.

Bought two HomePod Minis: blue and orange on 4 Nov afternoon, and they both arrive this morning.

Setup as stereo speakers, and the sound quality is very good (for the first time Apple's Home App is installed on my phone)

Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image Attached Image

As they don't have built-in batteries and will be used indoor, I do not purchase Apple Care+ for them.

I'm not sure about the shipping charge as I use them in China.
And yes, the bundled adapter follows the plug type of the country where the AOS is situated.

Maybe in a week or two? Let’s see how many heads we can gathered up to save on the shipping and before they implement the new tax for importing goods via air freight soon zzz.

What language do you all select for your Siri for Apple Homepod Mini?

On my iPhone and iPad, I can choose English (Singapore) which bests can detect our speech well but on the Homepod Mini that selection isn't available (since it isn't available in Malaysia) I guess.

Anyone tried using the Homepod Mini connected to a GaN charger? Thinking of getting a pair for stereo, but would prefer to only use 1 plug to connect both cables - free 1 more slot for other stuff.

Should work. So long the wattage on each port push out enough wattage. Have seen someone use it with power bank.

Been using the HomePod Mini in Stereo for over a week now, a little hit and miss.

AirPlay is quite wonky, especially if you are using a non-native Apple app, you get audio delay (need to manually toggle), frequent audio cut-off (1-2 sec) and at times output will only be on one speaker.

Apple should pay more attention to the software part of the HomePods, the sound quality is acceptable but the software is a real pain at times.

Depending on your setup - if you are specifically referring to using HomePods for 'Lossless', you won't be able to hear the difference. Only through a proper wired connection (either directly to the source or through a DAC), you are able to tell the difference between standard AAC and ALAC - a placebo effect that you can hear an 'improved' experience over AirPlay / Wifi / Bluetooth but they aren't really 'lossless'.

Get it from Mint on Shopee, bought 3x from them and all unopened / unregistered from HK (3 pin plug).

The warranty is directly tied to your Apple ID hence it's international warranty.

Has anyone purchased from ssuperdeal.com.my before? Its a store on shopee and the HomePod mini price is cheaper then MINT.

I also asked MINT and they can help with the HK warranty in case any issues crop up but they charge RM 50 for shipping. Just in case anyone finds this useful.

Alternatively u can buy from overseas Apple Store and ship back to bolehland. It will be slightly more ex but safer than buying from third party.

No idea. Mine is us set. I use converter for the plug.

I had used it since its launch until now. It is still good and strong. I think u want to get it fixed it is quite difficult.

Maybe u should contact apple to see if they even provide repair service at those countries that sell this and the cost of repair.

Mine is from US directly. This is why I prefer to buy from apple directly than buying from third parties which they are not reliable.

I have one unit of original homepod (big one) bought from apple hk and shipped back also.

but too bad. now i am addicted to marshall speakers which i find the sound, the look, the usefulness (bluetooth) is much better than homepod. I will stick to marshall brand only for speakers now. tongue.gif

Currently Shopee has a 500-100 Mall seller voucher. Good combo for HomePod mini RM529-100 = RM429
bai bai bai

Even after that voucher it's still more expensive than the RM370-390 I bought from Mint or ssuperdeal on Lazada.

I just realized that one of my homepod mini got issue to reconnect to WiFi. The mini (orange) my bedroom won't reconnect to the WiFi after manual/scheduled restart the router. It only reconnects when I open the Home app. I thought the wall or the door block the WiFi signal. Then I swapped it with the unit in my living room (blue), which beside the router and still the same problem.

Too bad I only discovered this recently and the warranty expired on Feb 2024.

Updating HomePod minis 18.0...

Not even sure what's new.

Update: hmm, the mini Stereo pair seems to be stuck at downloading while the other standalone minis are Installing...
