I know this is an old thread but i just got it working. Initially i was thinking of using the "new" method by installing widcomm driver ( it really difficult to install ) but when i finally got it working only i realise my w810i does not support pan network access. So i got to use the "old" method. This is the thread..

This is for lazy people like me that like to lying down on the bed to online using handphone but not paying the gprs charges.

Opera mini 3, opera mini 2.04, Opera dimension and Gmail mobile work now! Enjoy!! rclxms.gif

No it should be the other way round. That means if you have a broadband pc connection and it is getting late like now . Wow almost three and you are tired of looking at the big pc screen and you still want to surf the net and you can just leave your pc on plug in the bluetooth and execute opera mini from your sony sdk and run opera mini and you would be surfing the net from your hand phone like me now smile.gif

Added on August 14, 2007, 10:19 amIt is useful if you go starbuck and your friends can "borrow" your internet connection to use their phone online.

What is PAN? Does w610i have it?

Sounds cool if it's not only wireless laptop that can do that.. Even PC can do that as well? Do we need extra hardware/stuff for the bluetooth connection?

PAN stand for personal area network . Frankly i have little knowledge of it . All i know is if your phone support PAN you can just select your phone as new data account in your phone and make it your prefer setting for java application to online . By having that you can do away with se sdk stuff to online with phone by sharing your pc internet connection . You just need a bluetooth dongle and install the se sdk and java development kit.

Just realise in order to get a more stable connection, i only install windows default bluetooth driver. And also do the following, just click on SPP and unclick the rest. tongue.gif In this way my proxy connection is more stable. Now i can even use eMSN rclxms.gif

Hmm, just wondering.. to connect phone to pc via bluetooth, do you need any extra hardware for the PC? Or it is already built-in? If need extra hardware, how much does it cost?

Just go and buy yourself a bluetooth dongle which i can get it less than RM50. I believe the forumer here can get much better deal. Believe me you are not far from lying down on the bed and surf the net! cool2.gif

So if we do this, the speed that we get to surf in mobile, is same with what we subscribed with streamyx, right? If that's so, it's way too cool.......

No this software is actually meant for software developer. Any way if you got good speed it only take a few minutes to download. blush.gif

Added on August 14, 2007, 11:34 pmAlso forgot to mention, the proxy connection between your pc and hand phone is super sensitive and an error will make the connection out totally. So the solution is to restart your handphone and start afresh.
