Health DG: Nearly 70% of Covid-19 cases in Selangor are local transmissions

PETALING JAYA: Nearly 70% of the 26 active Covid-19 clusters in Selangor are not linked to those who returned from Sabah recently, says Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2020...l-transmissions

LOL... 30% is still a large number and it is self created.

If an icu ward is now operating at 70% capacity (26 out of 37 clusters), without the 8 clusters, it is 48%.

Lastly, who and how the other 18 clusters started is not known. Many possiblities... up to you guys to guess.

A total of seven sub-districts in Selangor are listed as Covid-19 red zones, according to a list released by the Health Ministry (MOH).
The seven areas, as of October 20, are the Selangor sub-districts of Klang, Kapar, Sungai Buloh, Petaling, Damansara, Kajang, and Tanjung 12 (1) in Kuala Langat.

Following yesterday’s announcement by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, workers from these red zones who are required to be at the office despite the work-from-home order must be tested for Covid-19 before reporting for work.

In the district of Klang, the Kapar and Klang sub-districts have been listed as red zones after recording 41 and 134 cases respectively over the last 14 days.

Damansara, Petaling and Sungai Buloh under the Petaling district each have recorded 75, 94, and 233 Covid-19 cases respectively over the same period, with Kajang under Hulu Langat recording 92 cases and Tanjung 12 (1) with 55 positive cases.

The list provided by MOH also included Kota Setar and Gajah Mati in Kedah as red zones, along with George Town and Mukim 6 in Penang, Taiping in Perak, and 34 other sub-districts in Sabah.

The updated conditional movement control order (CMCO) regulations announced yesterday require the majority of public and private workers in management and supervisory positions in the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan, and in Selangor and Sabah to work from home beginning tomorrow October 22.

Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali today clarified that a maximum 10 per cent of staff would be allowed to be physically present at the office, with red-zone testing rules applied, for areas under the CMCO.

This encompasses staff in management and supervisory roles in accounting, finance, administration, law, planning and ICT, with Azmin saying companies do not have to submit applications for these workers, and only have to issue letters of approval for travel for each employee.

However, their time at the office is limited to just four hours from 10am to 2pm, for a maximum of three days a week.

Anything to worry about? Maybe not, since there are several "super" clusters making up the bulk of the numbers...

Kluster Utama 194 cases, Auto 62, Sg Way 56, Keladi 30, Hentian 49.

9 clusters (out of 26) were from workplaces. Maybe MKN need to further investigate the infected workplaces and question how so many personnel was infected at the same place and whether the SOP needs to be revised or not, or whether the companies should be charged or not for not following guidelines.

How are they going to enforce the 4 hours work day though? I mean, if I go work 8 hours in office, how would they know?

Red zones are defined as having more than 40 active cases. So basically, if want to EMCO just red zones, then some districts in Selangor will get hit and some wont. If they need to EMCO, this is the way it should be done, not blanket the whole state. And KL isn't a red zone, so hopefully it gets spared from further restrictions.

In an ideal world, they should just do away with the CMCO as a whole.

Won’t happen as CMCO is lazy way to do a partial lockdown rclxms.gif

Assumption and fear mongering at its best as local transmission was already silently happening since mid Sept rclxms.gif

Kelaster all are assumption as they only investigate using 4 hours period hence just lump into the cluster

Given the secretive and untransparent raw data and numbers revealed by useless fear mingering hence with the support of useless and unrelatable Prayer Minister 8

2020 is gone look forward for Covid21 coming soon with super cluster spreadable like a butter on the bread rclxms.gif

Th 10 am to 2 pm limit is to make it expensive to force employees in and also to stop them going out for lunch out of their home district

Quite clever

Cmco was extended 2 weeks from 27-Oct.

Cmco rules applicable, 2 persons from same household going out (travelling in a car), no social gatherings, schools and places of worship closed, restricted travel crossing districts and states boundaries.
