You can directly plug in the USB-C end of the cable to your laptop and the Lightning end to your iPhone..

Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision is different thing.. Dolby Atmos is audio and Dolby Vision is video.

iPhone XS/XR/11/12 Series is able to take in Dolby Atmos audio format and playback using Dolby Digital Plus format, sos: Link

New thing to iPhone 12 Series is being able to record HDR videos in Dolby Vision (aka proprietary HDR format by Dolby), up to 4K 30fps for 12 and Mini, 4K 60fps for 12 Pro and Pro Max. Just hope the correct information is out there.

EDIT: the link I posted above is for playback, not recording(eg. all iPhone model since iPhone X is able to playback Dolby Vision HDR format).

if you're not coming from the previous version, your device will download the full update file in order to perform the update. Otherwise, if you are coming from previous version (in this case, 14.3), then you will only need to download the differential update file, which is significantly smaller in size.

next time can try to contact Apple Support first, if they are able to detect the fault via remote diagnostic, then they can tell local authorized service center to replace or something, at least the response will be way faster..
