That’s how Apple makes more money - by making you it more cables laugh.gif It’s likely they’ll go totally wireless rather than revert to USB C like they did for the iPad Pro.

Apple : We will make you suckers pay rm109 for the new lightning cable for next year's iphone. We will be a gazillion dollar company soon We are not providing the cable to reduce carbon footprint this year.

Next step. We are not giving the box to save the forests. nod.gif

Same, I’m using a Baseus one now and it’s really good. Already more than 2 years thumbup.gif
Then Xiaomi and Samsung will mock them and after that copy them. Wash, rinse and repeat.

Yes bro. Again, we should boycott the products of these greedy manufacturers to teach them a lesson. Instead of adding value to consumer purchases, they are short changing them. Instead of including the charging brick (which costs less than rm10 to manufacture), they are not including it in the purchase. Making you pay rm109 for one which comes in another box which actually amounts to more carbon footprint. By continuing to buy their products means we are supporting their greedy capitalist moves.

So yeah, not going to support them by buying their products. nod.gif

The boycott will be futile, bro... Even if we don’t buy, others will.

I can't stop what others want to do with their money. But everyone should be a smart consumer rather than let these corporate companies push everything down our throats.

QUOTE(Kar Weng @ Mar 8 2021, 11:41 PM)
The capitalists already made sure there’s no room for us to be smart. You might KNOW the trick, but you can’t avoid the trick. Much like the rat-race, it’s a trap yes, but you still gonna run it. iPhones are overpriced, but many will still buy it out of FOMO and a myriad of other reasons (which they’ve carefully created).

You can run away from iPhone maybe, but can you run away from smartphones in general? Yes Apple’s the worst in comparison, but are the other companies not also capitalistic?

Be can be a smart consumer to some extend but at the end of the day, we can’t really outplay capitalism 🥲

There are multiple brands that are coming up or already there to provide to consumers all they need in a smartphone. Xiaomi, Poco, Realme, ASUS and Vivo are already on the market providing best value for your dollar. There is basically nothing that the major players like Apple could provide that these brands can't. So by not providing the charging brick as per Apple and Samsung right now, they are actually short changing their customers instead. Since there are so many other brands which provides the charging bricks, it is imperative that smart consumers like us start looking at other brands as replacement, something that could give us the best bang for our buck.
By buying their stuff with the knowledge that they are shortchanging us is pretty much encouraging them to do so. As bold as Apple did, if consumers stopped buying their junk because of this, Apple will sure need to reconsider their decision. Sadly most Ifags chose to do otherwise instead.
