Hey all, quick 3 questions for iPhone 12 mini which I’m interested in getting:

1) I can accept not having earpods but there’s no adapter at all! How do I charge my phone with that cable (USB-C) given? Can I use back the norma cable & adapter of my iphone 7? If not, which apple adapter should we buy that will specifically suit the iPhone 12 mini and its included cable?

2) Is the trade-in program only available for US? When I tried using the US site there’s an option to trade in iPhone 7 for $100, but such option not shown in Apple MY.

3) Is 128gb or 256gb better for this model? I had an extremely bad storage experience with my 32gb iPhone 7. I’m assuming a cam & iOS with higher specs/greater ver will eat up much more spaces. Is 256gb worth it?

Thanks in advance!

certainly 256gb, forget about 128gb even. the camera for iphones are much better now. more storage will be required. dun cheap out on storage.

always remember = "poor man always buy twice".

Thanks. I think you're right, I should not save the RM500 and struggle the same storage fate later on.

Can you advise which product here is suitable in charging up iPhone 12 Mini?
https://www.apple.com/my/shop/iphone/iphone...e%2B45b0%2B45d4

I heard it'll spoil the battery's lifespan if I use the wrong kind of charger. I used to charge my iPhone 7 a lot with my car and I can testify.

1) can charge but the cable comes with iphone 12 support fast charge PD, provided you have PD charger adapter which no longer include (last year iphone 11 include charger adapter is not support fast charge, just normal 5V1A brick laugh.gif)

Thanks for the valuable insight!
How can we get this "PD charger adapter"?
And if I don't care about fast charge PD, what are the alternative? I can be satisfied if it can charge just 10-20% faster than my current iPhone 7.

Also, is 5G worth it in Malaysia? Do we have the infrastructures necessary to support 5G in most places?
Completely new to this technology here so feel free to give me a lecture wink.gif

If we use different charger than the one from apple, will it affect the iPhone's lifespan?
I've heard from someone before that we should only charge an apple phone with an apple charger. How true is that?

Hi everyone, do you think I can trust this type of pre-order online: https://shopee.com.my/APPLE-IPhone-12-Mini-...0405.6757486769

Seems very convincing cause there's 100% authentic guarantee from Shopee. It has other free gifts unlike buying directly from the official Apple site. Plus you don't have to "fight" for it on the official release date in Malaysia (which we don't know when as of now).

What do you guys think?

I certainly hope Mini having the same launch date worldwide. Given there's so much extra time for them to prepare.

So far it seems like there's still no official news on when iPhone 12 Mini will be released in Malaysia. That's pretty frustrating cause we all have been waiting whistling.gif whistling.gif

I'm not familiar with buying iPhone exactly when it's released. I bought my current iPhone 7 one year later than its release (in 2017).
So I'm wondering, if I miss the iPhone 12 mini pre-order now on Apple's official site, will I be able to get it easily any time later on (excluding any telco-linked options)? Or will it actually go out of stock like the Nintendo Switch? Stupid question I know, but bear with me biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

What is the benefit of buying the new iPhone from Authorized reseller vs just buying it directly from Apple's official site which has free delivery?
If there's no extra benefit given, why'd people bother getting their phones from places like MacCity, Switch, SenHeng etc?

Ringke or Spigen clear case to showcase the colour. Minimalist yet nice.  thumbup.gif

Is clear or matter clear a better option based on your experience? I personally prefer a clear case to showcase my new phone's design but I'm afraid it'll get yellowish over time, which was what happened to my last iPhone's 1st transparent cover.

Machines is awesome, same day delivery.

Apple official site will take almost 1 week to ship most of the time, only buy there if you want customisation like RAM upgrade or engraving.
*
Mine from the Apple Site actually shipped faster than expected.
What is RAM upgrade? Didn't see this option when buying!

Dear all iPhone 12 mini users here, I got mine last month and so far there are a few things that seem a bit buggy, one thing IN PARTICULAR is that I always get "NO SERVICE" on my Digi line (unable to use mobile data or receive calls) and the only way to solve this is that I have to reset my phone, then everything will go back to normal.

It's been happening a lot of times, sometimes multiple times a day. Does it have to do with my NanoSIM's positioning in the SIM slot? Or is it purely a software problem?

Anyone experiencing the same thing?

On the side note, are you getting a screen protector for your iPhone 12/12 mini? Is the screen scratch resistant enough that we don't need one? Thanks! notworthy.gif

For a full charge of 100%, how long does it last?

I'd say about a day at most. I use social media heavily but not even for massive youtube streaming or gaming.

I’ve had the 11 prior to owning the 12 Pro Max and now the 12. It’s only worth the upgrade if just for the OLED screen, if you’re fine with the LCD screen of the 11 then probably hold off upgrading till the 13 launches.

Hi, yes, I have used the 11 Pro Max and I have used the S8. Battery life difference is night and day. The 11 Pro Max has a bigger battery and much better battery life than the S8 but mind you Android and Apple are two very different ecosystems, using one after being used to the other presents some challenges that you should be aware of.

On the question on whether the 11 Pro Max would be a better buy over the 12, I would say yes. The 11 Pro Max has better battery life, more screen estate and a telephoto lens. Since we won’t need 5G anytime soon, I’d say the 11 Pro Max is still a great phone even now.

Sho did I just waste my money on 12 mini if a lot of the cost went to this non-existent 5G? 🥲

Any recommendation for non-Apple casing / sleeve?

Using Ringke fusion for casing, so far so good

where did you get yours?

I see so many sellers on shopee selling the same product, don't know which is genuine. Even on taobao, ppl are selling it.

Then there's also international websites selling ringke.  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
