Yes, for a battery capacity under 3000mAh it’s pretty amazing. I just “downgraded” from my 12 back down to the 11, and although the 11 has a lower resolution screen and a marginally bigger battery, I find the battery life to be about the same based on my usage.

Probably wait for the next online sale - perhaps for Raya, maybe 5.5?

Tough question this.. cases range from RM5 to RM999 (I kid you not). So it depends on your budget and priorities (protection, slimness, etc.).

Wireless charging will cause a bit of degradation over time but for it to happen over just 5 months is a little surprising. Then again, the Mini has a really small battery and it’s probably not meant for heavy usage. My 12 is also about 5 months old, only charge once a day before I sleep, usually around 30%-40% battery life remaining when plugged in. I use the 12W iPad charger though, paired with a auto disconnect cable so it cuts off the power at 100% charge.

Nice! Do exercise a bit of care when using it if you are OCD about scratches or water marks though - It’s a bit of a “manja” case but the overall quality is good.

Depends on your budget - something midrange would be Ringke Fusion/Fusion X or if wanna splash a bit more cash probably UAG Civilian.

Having bought every iPhone since iPhone 4, if I recall correctly, promos and discounts only started coming about during iPhone 7 series onwards, I remember seeing a RM500 off retail prices somewhere in March during that time, four or five months after launch. I think moving forward if you can wait a few months, best not to buy iPhones at RRP during launch if you wanna save some $$$.

Not at launch. They’ll want to capitalise on the novelty but once sales start to slow (or if they are bad to begin with) for sure it’ll get a price cut. Bear in mind though the phone is already in its mid life cycle. A new release is just 6 months away.

No, it has dual physical SIM slots which is great for travellers- but with the current pandemic there’s not much travelling, hahaha... I’ve used the HK version of the XS Max and XR previously, no issues with the radio band or signal in Malaysia. Claiming warranty is a mixed bag - it really depends on the authorised service centre as it is up to their discretion to accept your phone or not. One workaround is to contact Apple support first.

Ya, I noticed the deal too. Luckily I sold mine off a couple weeks ago at RM3.3k. The price of iPhones (particularly for this 12 series) don’t hold quite as good as before, hahaha...

I’m now using an iPhone 11 which was assigned to me by the company I work for, hence the reason I sold my 12. 5G should not be a consideration at all, some folks argue the Qualcomm modem is better than the Intel one on the 11 but some says no difference so up to you to judge on that. The display of the 12 is better than the 11 and also you’ll get night mode on the ultra wide lens, which isn’t there on the 11. Design wise, it’s up to individual preference but I prefer the boxy design of the 12, which also feels nicer to hold. Although the 11 has a bigger physical battery than the 12, I find them to be about equal based on my personal usage. I don’t play games or use very resource intensive apps, so in that sense the processor on the 11 pretty much matches whatever the one in the 12 can do for me.

Yup, sold my 128GB {Product} Red iPhone for 12 for 3.3k. I think it’s a fair deal for both buyer and seller coz as an avid enthusiast that buys (and sells) phones quite regularly, my base guideline would be a second hand phone should be at least RM400-500 or 30% lower than the lowest online selling price of a new phone, otherwise might as well get a new one. But ya, I agree with you, I’ve not seen such a long and sustained discount for iPhones like we see now for the 12 series before.

Ya, the previous gen iPhone will always be better value for money vs the new ones because it can pretty much match the older ones with lower price, but the 12 is a huge upgrade from the 11 just for the display itself, hence it’s your call if that’s worth the price difference or not for you
