Overheating and quick battery drainage here too. And the phone (iph12 mini) also feels kinda buggy. Need to reset it every time something doesn’t seem right.

Yo, mine is on IOS 14.4 man... i cant even restore now. the "Download software keep stuck around 10~20mb" then fail with error "There was a problem downloading the software for the iphone, the network connection timed out". When i try to restore my iphone 8+ the same day, everything was smooth.

Would you recommend avoiding this update?

my iPhone12 came with iOS 14.1 as well. Updated to iOS 14.4 and notice the cellular setting no longer have 2G. Only 4G,3G where else 14.1 has 4G,3G & 2G.

Other than that smooth and battery kind of better abit. Also notice the signal at indoor is slightly stronger.

If you worry, i suggest just stick to 14.1 which i think is pretty good also..smooth.

That's giving me a bit of dilemma laugh.gif

Anyone planning to keep the 12 Mini long term? Its really nice to use and navigate but really gotta admit its a lil small for games and movies.
*
Me, while it’s small for things like games and movies it fits into my hands and pockets pretty well. Maybe I just love compact things. But ya gotta admit the screen can sometimes be a tad bit too small

I just tried back the 12 Pro Max and its such a weird feeling that I actually miss the Mini for some reason. Feels like I can see equally as much stuff on the small vs big screen. The difference is usually significant between small vs big android phones but am not feeling it here.

I actually have vision problems where I cant really see small texts and images and the Mini didnt strain my eyes. Hard to explain.

Mini doesn’t have that kind of display problem. If anything it only has battery life problem and some strange bug

I can feel the battery is less lasting than its bigger brothers but its not bad at all. What are some of these strange bugs?

I have noticed a slight difference in signal strength though. Not sure if its Umobile acting up but I used to get strong LTE signals at certain parts of my house. Now its more often 3G than 4G.
*
You're right the battery is by no means bad, just less durable than its larger peers and slightly below what I initially expected.

Strange bugs include not being able to download an app without restarting. Before the latest update there was a bug where my phone will show "no SIM" after a short signal disruption (e.g. entering the lift) unless you restart the phone. There are a number of strange things I couldn't recall but it's all solved by restarting the phone. I can't recount the times I restarted my phone.

The reason I love mini is how it fits the pockets and my hands well. People complain about small display but I don't use it to watch videos/play games very often. The display work just nice for me. thumbsup.gif

If you removed from iOS, it will removed the backup data on iCloud as well. So i login whatsapp in android phone and then removed whatsapp account from there.
after that register as new with iphone and then restore backup.  problem fixed!  biggrin.gif

I can't stop what others want to do with their money. But everyone should be a smart consumer rather than let these corporate companies push everything down our throats.
*
The capitalists already made sure there’s no room for us to be smart. You might KNOW the trick, but you can’t avoid the trick. Much like the rat-race, it’s a trap yes, but you still gonna run it. iPhones are overpriced, but many will still buy it out of FOMO and a myriad of other reasons (which they’ve carefully created).

You can run away from iPhone maybe, but can you run away from smartphones in general? Yes Apple’s the worst in comparison, but are the other companies not also capitalistic?

Be can be a smart consumer to some extend but at the end of the day, we can’t really outplay capitalism 🥲

It's a good phone if you're a light user, otherwise the smaller screen and inferior battery life might bother you a bit.
*
I was a light user, until i got addicted to using my iph12 mini. Now it’s kinda bothering me 😂

Well, there are three top colour under my radar, white, red n mint green. After going through looking at all three options. I decided to get the red version✌️😉.

I got the red and never regretted for a second.

Yours is mini as well?, Congrats, red is the obvious diff among others as in the support for RED causes. Plus it's also the one for me that contrast the most after white. ✌️

Hi all, my iPhone 12 Mini's battery health is at the 80%+ range and my warranty has ended. What would be the cost of a battery replacement on official Apple stores? And how many days will be iPhone need to be away from use during repair?
Thank you!

Hi all, my iPhone 12 Mini's battery health is at the 80%+ range and my warranty is ending exactly by tomorrow (I didn't know you could claim warranty for free battery replacement!).

What would be the cost of a battery replacement on an official Apple dealer store for this model? And how many days will be iPhone need to be away from use during repair?

Thank you in advance!
