I think ip12pro is better buy because of 6gb of ram compare to 4gb on ip12. More ram equal to much longer support for ios. Plus its only 800 bucks more from the ip12 (128gb ver). Classic case with 6 vs 6s, later model until now still support ios14 because of an extra ram it got. If you buy with your telco, ip12pro is a no brainer choice.

The extra ram is not user accessible la, it is reserved for camera to process image, this tradition starting from iphone 7 and 7+.

Btw, i dont think apple will selectively to support their products. For example support iphone 8 plus but retire iphone 8? I think they will retire the whole generation

i think someone did a test before, maximum benefit is up to 30-40W at best. but the returns are sibeh low for the cost youre paying la

the results are like below for full charge from 0-100% if i recall correctly when charging iphone

5W - takes 3hrs, 1 1/2hr to 50%
12W - takes close to 2hrs, 1hr to 50%
18-20W - takes 1 1/2hr, 30min to 50%
30W - takes 1hr 20min, 30min to 50%
96W - takes 1hr 20min, 30min to 50%

Yeah, that’s why previously a number of folks recommended that we just use the iPad 12W charger for the right balance between price and charging times, but now that Apple’s 20W charger costs just RM10 more than the 12W one, it’s a no brainer smile.gif

yeah. agree. more RAM sure will improve the performance on daily basis or even prolong the iOS support.

good example will be iphone 6 vs 6s.
6 stops at ios 12 while 6s now still supports ios 14. the RAM difference (1GB vs 2GB) is the key to this.

it is possible they only retire iphone 8 vs 8 plus due to RAM difference.
(still got sometime before coming to this to confirm).

RAM does make a difference to users. How often the app refresh or close before reload on iPhones also rely on the amount of RAM.

Ya, I'm also "slow charging" my iPhones with the same charger. Since I only charge it once a day before I go to bed, I'm in no hurry for it to charge quickly smile.gif
