I did logged a case during speed throttled. just now digi helpdesk called and said they upgraded their fibre system and ask for feedback on recent week. Everything is back to normal.

recently been contacted by tm. saying my area now covered by fibre instead of vdsl.

offers me same rate but upgrade my speed from 50mbps to 300mbps.

i think tm just lock the port for their own customer. Digi told me my area no more port.

Same rate but to 300mbps, is offer by Unifi? If yes, y still insist for Digi?

Btw, you can try contact those 3rd party agent (via google or FB ads), they might help u to get through the lubang and install the ISP u like.
For my case, Digi Fibre available, but Digi Online and Digi CS say my port not available for 50mbps plan due to certain reason. I contacted a agent, managed to install the 50mbps without any issue.

If I were you I will take up the offer as you have nothing to lose and less hassle for you. If you subscribe to Digi and if there is any major issue, still need to refer back to UniFi. Just stick to UniFi if possible.

I will take up Digi or Celcom Fibre as I don't want to pay for hefty penalty if I early terminate the contract.

How much you're currently paying for your monthly 50Mbps Unifi on VDSL?
If more than RM150 consider downgrading to lower speed like 100M or switching provider, the 300M free upgrade offer is a gimmick to get you sign up another 2 years.

I wonder if it is possible that we subscribe the and terminate under that 30 days trial just to get the infra set up. then change to whatever telco.

It's expensive, even for 300mbps. In comparison, Maxis 300mbps is RM149, while Unifi 300mbps without any TV pack is RM159.

You get the idea and the strategy TM is trying to pull with you?

Get you committed with another 2 years contract lock and keep making you pay the same high rates with little effort. I'm telling you 300Mbps is rarely achievable with overseas connection especially if the server is located in other regions. It's only good if your house has lots of family members or people using then everyone doesn't need to cram their bandwidth through a 50M pipe.

Look around the other competitor ISPs and compare for yourself how much they're charging for their 300Mbps plans. Choose wisely.

You use torrent you can easily saturate 1gb port.

Depends on the sources and peers. If most of them local or neighboring countries in ASEAN still can saturate la but if most of them in Europe, USA you can forget about it.

Also I have more reasons to use the internet besides torrents.

What if I want to stream multiple 4k videos from other regions such as Europe/USA directly with no nearby servers in this region? Even 1Gbps lines can't keep up if the ISP has lousy peering arrangements or routes to these servers because they can't afford them.

Should I be paying extra for the 1Gbps line?

EDIT:
Also I don't make a living sitting in front of the screen downloading all day. My life has much more meaningful things to do except I need the extra bandwidth occasionally.

If the quality of Copper is still in good condition,
then it can offer speeds of up to 50mbps
