Hi, I wonder if I can sign Unifi first and then terminate within 30 days since now have 30 days free trial promo, can terminate without penalty and then I sign for other ISP which provide same speed with better price. I am doing so because my house here just newly install new TM fibre DP box, my address still yet can be check in TM system, to speed up the system update, I have to urge Unifi by register from them first, once Unifi system has my address only other ISP using their infra can find out my address in system. Just not sure if I terminate Unifi within 30 days, would it be any problem on securing port when I sign other ISP, eg. my address will be blacklisted. Although price is almost same but Unifi contract penalty is like loan shark, in case I terminate my pocket will suddenly bocor.

I predict you will be in for a big problem if you do that. Once you terminate, TM will take some time to release the port, maybe a month or more before you can apply for new ISP. And if you are unlucky your port been taken by someone who wants to register unifi and you end up having no port.

As for the usual process of switching to other ISP under TM's infra, normally we need to register with the other ISP and submit transfer request to TM. It will take about 10 working days for TM to either approve or deny your request. You need to pray hard that they do not use this trial period as an excuse not to approve your transfer. Also will there be any guaranty your address will be updated into the system of the other ISP upon registerring Unifi? If not, you can't register still.

So, this is a very tricky process. If anything happen in between, it may drag your time past the 30 days mark and you are automatically bound by 2 years contract of Unifi.

Above is just my prediction, looking at how this termination/transfer process. If you willing to give it a go, do keep us updated.

Inform and tell your neighbors don't subscribe first for time being and wait.

Eventually they'll open the ports up if demand is low.At least still can get returns from wholesale port.

Own gateways and international routes.

Last mile infra, DiGi buys wholesale Layer 3 ports from TM, Time, Allo or Celcom Timur Sabah.

I dont about your areas DP but if ports is always available, maybe u can do that. Otherwise areas with BBF project which is migrating streamyx user need to wait for sometimes until TM open the FDP to the competing ISP or Extra Port which is strictly on for Unifi

Hi All,
Would like to gauge from existing DiGi Fiber users.
How's the routing used by DiGi so far? Thinking of hopping on.
Primarily to SG & HK destinations. Also DiGi upload is better @ 20Mbps right?

Go to Digi and register your desire package. Inform them you want to port from Unifi. Digi will give you a transfer ID.
Submit the transfer id to TM and wait for the process to complete. Once Tm approve the port out, Digi will come to install and your Unifi will be terminated during same day as installation.

But bro with this plan, people can think twice, either pay RM89 for 30mbps or RM90 for 50mbps.
For all who plan to change ISP, don't terminate but use switching instead. If you terminate they will take some time to clear your address from system, last I heard it's 30 days. Switching is like MNP, thus ensuring your port is not taken.

can provide an example of the proper procedure to do so? i think it will be greatly helpful.

for example, if i am on unifi 100Mbps plan (without contract), how do I switch to Digi 50Mbps plan?

thanks.

Second that!  biggrin.gif

Celcom has ONE major advantage over the others!

They have China Mobile as one of its Top 3 upstream provider besides GTT and VNPT??
They also have NTT America in the mix.

Among all ISPs now they offer the best value router which is the TP-Link WiFi 6 AX10 router?

Their early termination policy is the most fair among all competition! RM500 one-off penalty!
Downgrade from higher plan to lower only incur RM30 one time service charge while contract is still ongoing(NO RESET). Upgrade is FREE.

Celcom deal looks WAYYY better than DiGi's.

digi what is the early termination fee?

Celcom, DiGi and City Broadband all one-off RM500.

Only Unifi and Maxis still adopting the unfair remaining months penalty.

Paying remaining subscription fees in contract doesn't make sense. Might as well keep the line until finish contract since the amount need to pay is same.

This kind of monopolistic rule also can be allowed. Malaysia, truly unique.
