Celcom doesn't use TM they've their own fibre network in Borneo called Celcom Timur like Allo.
In fact they buy more bandwidth from TIME than TM.

Axiata's direct Kuching-Batam/Singapore undersea cable is going to get litted soon.

Brunei has landing sites for SEA-WE-ME 3, AAG and SJC.

Sabah and Sarawak ISPs can join their exchanges no need to rely on TM's route back to Peninsula Malaysia to connect out.

Just to add since just now I was in the hurry to take off for dinner.

The 60ms ping to Perth via Maxis I mentioned earlier is from Ipoh. It should vary if you're doing it from Borneo due to distances and cable length.

No matter how you want to see it, there's no other direct route from Borneo to Australia. If you want to reach Australia, the only closest major landing site is Perth, Western Australia via SINGAPORE.

There is NO direct hop from Borneo around Jawa to land on NT, Australia.

Most ISPs don't see any benefit connecting to Australia, there's very little content people want to access from there.

Axiata is building a direct cable across the South China Sea to connect Kuching directly with Singapore called BaSICS(Batam-Sarawak Internet Cable System) and only via Singapore you can reach Australia West side via Perth.Else you need to take a big round to the other side of Australia's East Coastal Cities.

Still considered expensive due to TM Wholesale unflexible port pricing for other competing ISPs.

TNB Allo's allows ISPs to market symmetrical 100Mbps at RM89/mth with its Allo City Broadband offerings.

Other ISPs such as Maxis and DiGi cannot afford to do this because they have to take TM Wholesale and Time Fibre's wholesale pricing to cover all of them.

Those asking about torrenting..why not u get the lowest fiber plan + a subscribe Seedbox account and torrent from there ? When u done torrenting, just download the files via browser or sftp client.

expect the same as unifi.

the only additional value u get is 50Mbps at Rm90 price

Do update us all on your installation experience such as what kind of router they provide, typical speeds with regional speedtest servers and how frequent are the down times.

Port full. Reason i think maybe cuz my house still no DP box around 300m yet. TM install one box in shop at my taman. But, not in my street.

They send request to add port. But they say will contact me again when new port is install. Expect 2~3 year or never.

Take cheapest TM package then use for 2 years contract, then port to Digi lol. Thats the way I need to do to secure a port to my house and to use other than TM

Hi, I wonder if I can sign Unifi first and then terminate within 30 days since now have 30 days free trial promo, can terminate without penalty and then I sign for other ISP which provide same speed with better price. I am doing so because my house here just newly install new TM fibre DP box, my address still yet can be check in TM system, to speed up the system update, I have to urge Unifi by register from them first, once Unifi system has my address only other ISP using their infra can find out my address in system. Just not sure if I terminate Unifi within 30 days, would it be any problem on securing port when I sign other ISP, eg. my address will be blacklisted. Although price is almost same but Unifi contract penalty is like loan shark, in case I terminate my pocket will suddenly bocor.
