Tragically it's quite hard to judge whether PC, console or mobile has the larger market. I'm quite sure there are significant amount of people playing on PC or console but spend via mobile for convenience/benefits. So, can't judge players size from spending alone.
I think Mihoyo is still in the midst of getting the co-op system right.
- Fischl's Unreconciled Stars co-op was too easy to even consider co-op.
- Dragonspine co-op difficulty was raised significantly. But it is crap cause match making begins after the battle starts. Ruined my team combo & no time for pre-battle discussion. I was praised to heaven cause I guided people how to co-op with friends only
- Lost Riches co-op is down right bugged lol. Definitely warrants apologems. But I'm surprised that I don't see much whining about it online.
Overall, can see the devs is trying hard to encourage people to co-op for clearing certain content. I won't be surprise if the next event requires us to form a team before starting the challenge/event. There's a lot of trial & error going on. With all the data gathered from the past events, hopefully they'll get their acts together & introduce a better co-op mechanics.
They are definitely trying to make it better. But they also realise they suck at it and do cater to solo players. Like literally none of the co-op after that deliver-cube-to-tower event are forced to go co-op, every one of it can be done alone.
Unfortunately no matter how it evolves, its always best to co-op just with friends. You get to fool around, and if needed to be serious, its so much easier to communicate and support one another. Pubs have too much ego most of the time, I've stopped matchmaking after AR40+.
