Halo niece and nephew, Im planning to gift my dad a watch. But I have 0 knowledge in watch, same goes to my dad too. So he is not a person who serious is watch.

so my budget is around RM300, is this price enough for a good enough watch, or should I need to top up abit?

Hope anyone can suggest a brand or series which suitable for my requirement, which is not so bad like pasarmalam watch

- budget RM300 +-
- any strap other than metal, prefer leather or cloth etc
- tick tock needle type not electrical
- for a 50 years old uncle, arm size consider medium-small for a man i think

RM300 range, you only can explore Seiko 5 dress watch range. Mostly are 38-40mm case size for this price segment.

If you topup more to around RM400-500 range, can consider Orient Bambino range.

Above all are automatic watches.

Hope it helps.

Give him Samsung Galaxy watch Active 2 or 3 or Apple watch. These watches have built in fall detection. Once a fall detected will alert you or family member. A very good feature to have especially for senior people. Highly recommended.

Not only for senior. Can be useful for middle age as well. Recently 1 celebrity and a youtuber KO due to slippery floor in bath room. People can be knocked unconscious during the fall. The watch can help to send an alert to increase the chance of survive in this situation.

seiko 5 all metal bracelet. u can exchange that though from any watchshop with range of around RM40 to RM200 depending.

the bambino is 4++ and comes standard with leather strap. but don't expect the leather is top leather. its only labelled as Genuine leather meaning the lowest quality of them all.

strap&co has good leather option with range from 80 and above.

But I think hand winding only unless you go up your budget.

I was actually thinking of buying this

to see if I suit wearing gold/brass.

have you asked him what he wants? I know some old folks who prefer digital watch with big digits (not necessarily big watch), can set multiple alarms to remind them to take meds, day & date display (old adi, forgetful), timer (for their cooking), cheap enough that they don't have to worry about knocking it around or being robbed, etc.

The Casio F201 fulfills all the criteria above. While it's only rated Water Resist, rest assured it can masuk pool for swimming. thumbup.gif of all... it's only less than RM100

I don't think it might reach within TS's budget
