Hi.

Both for x64 Windows 7.

I read that MPC-HC.1.7.13 is the final version back in 2017.

No more updates.

Suddenly saw this MPC-HC.1.9.7.

So, which one should I install?

Also, this mpc used our RAM a lot correct?

Many times got pop up window saying program needs to be closed.

Thank you.

1.9.7 is forked and updated by doom9 member
https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases

the newer is better obviously.

Also the CCCP is kinda old, the official release dates back 2015, iirc it contains a lot of external codec, while latest mpc-hc supported all codec without any external filters.

If you're used to MPC-HC, then replace with MPC-BE. Extremely similar for both

I'm still using the old one (MPC-HC.1.7.13).
Gonna upgrade to the latest version (1.9.7) as suggested by someone above.

If you have MPC-HC installed, you don't need mega codec pack anymore,
MPC-HC support almost every codecs with gpu hardware acceleration , external codec most of the time are not used and only consume your precious disk space.

MPC-HC use libavcodec https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libavcodec and always better than external codec in any way.

k-lite?

Which version ya?

If using Windows 7.

I am using both VLC and MPC.

The thing is my MPC cannot upload subtitles (subs)

I am using a faulty graphic cars with no driver; probably thats why.

But VLC can use subs rclxub.gif

And MPC uses RAM a lot.

Because MPC always pops up a window saying needs to close because of RAM etc.

VLC...maybe?

Just straight install K-Lite Mega Codec
Go to this link then pick any server to download
https://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm

Method to set Media Player Classic as default video player.
In Windows 10
1. Go to settings, Apps
2. Go to Default apps
3. Scroll down you will found "Video player", click on it then select MPC-HC (x64).

Then done.

Method to watch movie with subtitle. Just make sure the *.srt or any other subtitle file types to rename it with the same file name as the video, then make sure to put into the same directory of that video.

Suggest you uninstall the old one and download the latest K-Lite Codec Pack and install. I use VLC most of the time. VLC tend to load slightly faster than MPC-HC.
