FNM Results today (8/3/08) at CCE.

14 players in total. Top 4 as follows:

1. Daniel Kong - Mono White Kithkin
2. Goo Zhen Qiang - Slivers with Wild Pair combo (amazing stuff)
3. Adrian Kuan - G/U/B Control
4. Adrian Lee - Kithkin

Kithkin basically romped over everyone including the Reveillarks and Faeries (think we had two each today). Alex K got the innovative award with a mono black rogue. Looks better in action than on paper.

Anyway CCE is now selling boosters (Lorwyn & Morningtide) for only RM9, but it wasnt too hot as i guess everyone is broke cos the $$ can be better spent on other things than cardboard :)

Not sure if the Sliver played any of the Kithkins or not, but the Wild Pair absolutely raped the U/W Reveillark.

Itchy means start cracking!! Of course must pay leh... Haha....

I dont see many drafting action lately..... where have all the drafters gone?

Is everyone just staying away from this set and waiting for the next?

Drafting at CCE only happens on weekends as we close at 10 everyday.

Whats the price for drafting now? We wanna do a special promotion for people like you to get back into the drafting act! :)

Well, CCE is going to launch its new draft pricing and prize payout (given our new low price for packs).

RM30 per person (must have 8 persons of course)
Format - as you like (1st pick, keep what you draft, sanctioned, winner takes all etc)

Prizes - 1st place: 2 morningtide/lorwyn booster packs
2nd place: 1 morningtide/lorwyn booster pack

As an added incentive, if you have a group of friends who wanna come over and draft, "pre-register 8 persons" in advance for a group draft and we'll throw in an extra lorwyn booster pack as prize (whether lucky draw or extra pack for winner - up to your group).

Thats RM240 (for 8 persons) for 28 booster packs. Thats less than RM8.60 a pack. Dont think you can get a better deal anywhere else.

We just want the spirit of drafting to come back from the dead!

We're selling at RM320 a box... slightly less than RM9 x 36 (RM324). Cant do any better than that if not we'll be bankrupt soon :)

Depends what you preferlo. Morningtide is the newer set with Mutavault, Reveillark and Chameleons. Lorwyn got staples such as Garruk, Thoughtseize, Sower of Temptation and the Commands. But I think Lorwyn uncommons got more value (Shriekmaw, Kithkin stuff).

For those who hate maps but have a car to drive around and dont wanna get lost, here's a rough description on how to get to CCE Games in Old Klang Road.

1. If you're coming from Damansara/Subang/PJ, hop onto Federal highway going towards Mid Valley/KL.
2. Drive past the turnoff into Mid Valley (that yogurt bottle).
3. Keep to extreme left and go up the flyover. The road leading down will head to Cheras/Sg Besi.
4. Follow the flyover and straight, straight, straight.
5. Pass a few traffic lights and you will see Pearl Point & Hotel (pink building) and Central Plaza on its right (green building) on your left hand side.
6. Drive past the two buildings and turn left into the area.
7. Park your BMW inside Central Plaza. We're on the 1st floor.

And Mark, we'll see what we can do about the booths. But i think MTG players are here to play & have fun and not watch some cheap entertainment :)
