Probably just normal playtesting and if anyone's interested spontaneous drafts. Don't worry man, now is also probably not a very good time to hang out. With Nationals coming up the atmosphere abit tense among the more competitive magic players.

You're right , but the side events don't pay out money. Just to make day 2 of PT will earn a person USD$500 , and that's no small sum for a Malaysian. 1st placing takes home USD$40,00 if the next year follows this years prize structure. So the main event is always more attractive to attend.

Besides there are many players locally who won PTQ's but didn't have the opportunity to attend because of finances or commitments previously. Right now the PT is at our very own doorstep I'm sure these players would wanna seize the opportunity.

Just my thoughts from a competitive players view (although I myself am not one) , casual players can of course just go for the side-events / autograph signing sessions etc. It'll still be worth the time

You are not allowed to deal with cash within designated trading areas during GP's and PT's. So practically there won't be cheap stuff. The only people allowed to buy/sell are the dealers/traders who rent tables. You are however allowed to trade.

I've tried to help you guys organize too , but from my experience , drafts always tend to happen spontaneously. When you try to organize 8 guys to get together , most of the time 1 or 2 guys won't make it due to some reason. I suggest a day where everyone gathers and if there are sufficient people start a draft.

We're are very likely to be hosting a weekly type 2 tournament on Saturday afternoons starting from the week after Nationals. I will post up the details once everything has been finalized.

Actually the dragon deck started as a net-deck if my memory serves me correct , however he tweaked and basically perfected the deck for local meta after playing with it constantly. He played FNM with that same deck for over a month.

I also agree with Hari for those who didn't qualify for Nationals to head there and have a look. You will definitely pickup some pointers from the players there. Don't forget that sometimes there are side-events for those who've dropped or did not qualify. Last year they had RM15 drafts as side events , the only problem is that the cards have got cute little stamps which devalue the cards.

Nothing major planned until after nats Hari. Probably just the usual playtesting and spontaneous drafts this Saturday. I'll see you if you should decide to drop by.

Might be fewer people as things get more competitive due to nationals. Most of the guys are more secretive with their nationals deck choice / playtesting. Quite a number from the shop will be playing at nationals , last I counted the figure was more than 15.

You can spectate at nationals , but of course don't interfere in the games .

I can build the deck from scratch if you're interested. Since it's going to be open set , won't ask for retail price of course . Let me know if interested.

How much are you offering for the playset ?

If they were for type 2 , I'd much rather play the Coldsnap tapped duals instead. The tapped "mini-gemstone mines" are good only for Lorwyn limited play use in my oppinion.
