I'm having a problem with my computer's audio because it's always took a few seconds to start giving out sounds.

The sound would delay a few seconds if there's no music/sound playing in some time.

But would work well if I play video sound like back to back without pausing.

I meant it's like the audio went idle or sleep if there's no activities that giving out sounds in some time.

I tried a solution which I found in Youtube that give this solution where I need to change the values in regedit to these,

BUT every time I rebooted by computer after doing the above solution, the values always resetting to these,

IdlePowerState = 00 00 00 00
PerformanceIdleTime = 00 00 00 00

I'm using a desktop which I assembled myself and its been 3 months. And Edifier G2000 for speaker.

Initially I don't really mind with the audio delay much, because using it for works stuff most of the time.

But after installing a game recently, and the Audio Delay happens every time there's a cut scenes, annoys me alot now.

If anyone knows any solution or any advices please help.

HP laptop? I don't have any problem.

There is a lot of problem with realtek driver. Have you tried this?

1. Try install latest Realtek driver provide from the manufacturer.

2. Try disable power saving mode in Realtek Control Panel (Legacy) or Realtek Audio Console (UWP)

Haven't, I'll give that a try after work. Hopefully it will works.

I believe it is caused by our speakers. I have new speakers the same as yours, Edifier G2000 and immediately got his problem. After changing several drivers and audio devices I have deterimined that it has to be the speakers doing this. I've tried the registry edits and the driver updates and nothing works... since we both have the same speakers and for me it started when I got the new speakers (never had this problem before that) it has to be the G2000's doing this.

I still haven't found a solution

The most important thing we don't know is what OS are you using? I've never had this issue on Windows, but I've had the very same thing problem on Linux. I had to go through an entirely different and more complicated process on Linux Arch than Linux Ubuntu. I believe you use Windows since you haven't mentioned, but I'd prefer to be fully clear

From my experience, sound delay can be caused by extreme load of resources to the processor or sound driver. Or driver incompatible from hardware being too old (Eg Win7 to Win10) with no new driver available for Win 10. There are instances that Win 10 can detect the card & install driver for it, but there is no sound or weird audio delay/ cracking/ etc. And using old Win 7/8 driver can solve this.

The other problem is too many video/sound codecs installed inside. You may have Klite/ VLC/ etc... All of them might crash into each other at some time. Games have their own sound codec that might cause the same problem.

One way is to disable all start ups in task manager. Restart pc. Then run the apps that might cause the issue. If it does not happen, then one of the start up that is managing the audio is causing this.

The other is removing all 3rd party audio/video codec and leave to windows default.

Try reducing sample rate in the driver settings
