Hi,

Actually there are so many video editors in the market today that one is spoil by the choices available. You could check out this website https://vogueballroom.com.au/what-do-profes...eo-editors-use/ for a list of video editors and it's pros and cons.

Personally, I've used a few of them base on the OS. For Windows base, I've started with Pinnacle Studio, Corel VideoStudio until finally using Premiere Pro. For the Animation Effects, you could utilies on Adobe After Effects where most of the effects can be downloaded if you want a crash course of doing it. Since you're referring to the Cartoon Effects on Vlad & Niki, this effect might come in handy https://motionarray.com/after-effects-templ...nts-pack-170282. Just bear in mind some effects need "investments" unless you're good enough to do it on your own.

Then I dive into the Mac environment so started of with iMovie before moving into Final Cut Pro. MacOS have their own effect software call Motion but guess I'm stuck with Adobe After Effects since it has more resources and I feel more comfortable using it since it also has a Mac version.

At the end of the day, it's not on the software you use on editing but more on your creativity, time and passion on doing it. It's good if you have a project to do since you could have more focus on doing it plus good video editing laptop (nowadays people would just buy a gaming laptop) and lots of storage. Notice nowadays people are using smartphones Apps to do video editing since it's getting more powerful.

Stop doing it as current job and family occupies most of my time but occasionally do it out of favor or boredom. Good luck.

Just search those effect name + green screen on youtube

then download those youtube videos and import them into premiere pro,

use luma key effect and the green background will be gone!

Example:
Smoke Green Screen

Remove green screen

If you are pro already with premier pro try to learn after effects. It will really boost your skills as an editor

Hi, fellow video editor for years now. (4 years in professional and casually since I remember using Windows Movie Maker at the age of 10 or something)

There are many ways to achieve this editing, but I'll share the 2 methods I would try to do.

Level 1 - The quick way
1. Go onto Giphy or Google, search the effects that you want.

Ex: If you want "smoke", search Giphy on Stickers, usually it's already in .GIF or .PNG.

2. Save the image and import it into your software editing.
3. You place it above your actual footage, in terms of video layering (timeline).

Level 2 - Related to Premiere/After Effect/Davinci Resolve softwares way
1. If say Google PNG and Giphy don't have the effects you want, you search on YouTube.

Ex: If you want "smoke", search by "Green screen smoke" and go into the rabbit hole of finding the right one you want.

2. Certain YouTube videos of VFx (visual effects) have direct download link for you. So you don't have to find convertors online. Some doesn't.

Ex: Search "download youtube videos" on Google.

3. Import your assets into your software editing and place them above your actual footage, in terms of video layering (timeline).

If using Premiere:
4a. Search "Color key" in your Premiere's Effect window.

If using Resolve 17:
4b. In "Edit" tab mode, go to "Effects Library", go to OpenFX, search "3D keyer".

Davinci Resolve 17 - Green screen tutorial

If using After Effects:
4c. After Effects - Green screen tutorial

5. Apply the effect to "smoke" footage. Use the eyedropper tool and pick the green screen colour. You may need to play around the settings yourself; threshold & softness.

Level 3 - Money can buy not headache way.
1. There are many professional VFx available to be purchase. You can try those and not gaining a headache. Depending where you are and the currency and financial you have, you can choose this option.

I like to use the first option and then only moving to level 2.

Hope this helps!
