Yea now names are very modern lol. I’m a Punjabi so I have Singh in my name but I’ve decided not to pass that on to my son or give my daughter the Kaur surname. Instead their names will be like this:
Their given name + my given name Their given name + middle name + my given name
Singh and Kaur is just so old fashioned.

QUOTE(Starbucki @ Sep 21 2020, 06:54 PM) You mean like Gobind Karpal? Yea something like that. I’m just glad my father gave me an ang moh name instead of a Punjabi name like Gobind or Karpal haha.

QUOTE(knives. @ Sep 21 2020, 06:58 PM) Singh and Kaur aren’t surnames. Don’t you have a surname like Gill or smtg? I omit the Singh everytime i write it down so i just have my first and last name. No such thing for me. Don’t know there’s even such thing haha.

QUOTE(knives. @ Sep 21 2020, 07:01 PM) What? Lol i’ve never seen Punjabis without a Surname/Family name. You know common ones like Dhillon, Gill i.e. Mohinder Singh Gill Singh is just a middle title thing. It’s not a name. Most of the Punjabi that I know don’t have it as well. Maybe we’re special lol.

QUOTE(knives. @ Sep 21 2020, 07:07 PM) Lel maybe they (and you) just don’t know what a family name is. Don’t blame me. My father don’t have it. His father don’t have it as well. And we all married Chinese haha. Three generations of it lol.
