if all those japunis company go after every single artist for litigation of their IP (for monetizing fanart of their IP), the doujin/comiket etc market won't exist. franchises like Fate/ Type-Moon, KanColle, Azur Lane, T&B, Nintama (and many other BL stuff) wont get nearly as big wor
big corporations wanna associate themselves with hamsap R34 doujin ar? that's where independent artists comes in to fulfill that demand

and if corporation really goes after some one guy then it will be david vs goliath case lah

fair enough, the owner does own the art, and others can use the art as part of a commentary.

i thought for manual copyright strike, youtube would at least go through the claims manually before giving you a strike?
well Cr1tikal also did mentioned how hard it is to get in touch with an actual human from Youtube side of things (including Markiplier had problems trying to contact them so you have to rely on raising as much racket as possible)

fanart is more of a grey area
if die die illegal, half of pixiv, DA, or even most of online art community will cease to exist.
but the usual etiquette is dont steal, credit others' work.
monetizing own creation of artwork is fine, taking someone else's asset or effort/produce and monetizing it without their consent is big no no.

usually big companies don't bother to go after fanarts (not to be confused with trademarks or logo) since it doesn't give them much in return and only reduces interests in their IP, or sullies their reputation.
