Hi there, my old dell monitor starting to have lines. Currently using 1080p monitor with 60hz or fps, can't remember.

Can the gurus here recommend me a good affordable monitor? Criteria :

1. I plan do use for at least 5 years. So warranty and durability very important. Even though my monitors always end up 5 years or above without problem. All dell.

2. Planning to get 1440p at 144hz or 120hz if there is. This one I am rather clueless. Not sure what is the optimum size too? 32 or 27 inch? I plan to watch more video rather than gaming. Though I don't discount gaming in future. My future pc build most likely 3060 or 3070 or 2060 (if price drops below 1k). If 1440p looks better on 32inch then I will go for it.

3. No need build in speakers and need 2 hdmi or dvi ports at least. Ideal to have the old vga cable but not necessary. Use for PC and laptop connection.

I plan to buy over the 10 10 or 11 11 promotion online. Any trusted vendor who packs properly and use good courier to recommend?

Many thanks.

Search YouTube for model reviews, and only purchase from sellers with good feedback or ratings.

If your monitor is 1 arms length from you, i suggest dont go for 32" as it is very wide. Its like watching cinema from 1st row experience. Go for 27" if you are viewing from 1 arms length.

And if you are not using for gaming, 60hz is already suffice and cheaper. If you want the extra smoothness and feel siok, then go 144hz.

Since you has good experience with dell. Why not get Dell again?
Dell S2721DGF, buy from Dell directly, you can customize the warranty.

I have been using a MSI 271 CQR for over a year now. 1440P, 144HZ VA panel. It's great for gaming and general content consumption plus I love how the monitor looks in terms of build. The model has been refreshed with the launch of the new 272 cqr that just came out. 165HZ now. Iv'e not had any issues with dead pixels and it comes with a 3 year warranty.

You can check this out here. I can't personally speak for monitors that I have not used but from what Iv'e read the Samsung Odyssey G7 27 240HZ seems like a good deal. Thou slightly more expensive.

Thanks guys. Wow seems like 27inch 1440p 144Hz monitors going for almost 2k.... out of my budget. Let's see how then.

You have 3 options:
1. Get low-budget brand like Acer
2. Get VA instead of IPS
3. Get 1080p 144Hz

Thanks for all the replies. Actually this issue has been bothering me, I don't use my laptop or PC for gaming. But I use it for donkey years, so might as well buy something better since the work needed to get the PC going takes a lot of time and customisation. Data porting itself is a time wasting job. Originally plan to get a integrated card, but I guess eventually I will go for 3060 or 2060 if really dirt cheap or even a 3070 year end. So makes sense for a better monitor. Will get a TV too, but that's next years' problem since I have to find a long hdmi cable that will prove costly. I will shortlist the Dell, MSI and Acer monitor as reference. Again thank you all for your advice.
