My current mobile number (backup) which is registered under hotlink prepaid, was cancelled by hotlink 2 days ago as I didn't top up for past 2 months.
Can I use back the same number, but register under different telco like maxis, umobile bla bla....

If 2 days ago, can try contact hotlink support ask can reactivate back or not...pay penalty like rm 10 if correct,
After that just mnp to other telco...

Cos the number now in recycle pool,
Which will inside for some time before release to register again ....

And also don't know which telco get the number ....
Maybe need postpaid..

Because I have called back the customer service. Apparently can reactivate, but need to switch to postpaid instead. Only can switch to prepaid after 6 months. Kind of feeling cheated

Yes, you have to switch to postpaid for 6 months.
it's not a big deal since money can solve your problem,

I have a friend who stuck outside Malaysia due to COVID and his number is terminaled.
He cant do anything because the number is under his name,
even he is willing to pay for 6 months

Maxis all con one. Even changing from enterprise to personal also need to stay on for 2 months before can MNP out.

I finally MNP out to U Mobile to save cost since mostly working at home and don’t need the super fast or good coverage anyway.

Might MNP out to DiGi later. They have ok coverage and still much cheaper than Maxis.

Not cheated. All telco are like that. Digi straight told me recycle cant get.

Its because you don't value your number and my experience last time reactivation no fee and immediately then too many people take it for granted now they impose convert to postpaid is fair. You don't value your number if you value you would set alarm or use that number in a phone.

You will get an sms for termination. So since you don't treasure it so its fair and important getting your number back in form of postpaid is fair and its for 6months only.
