This particular one was in Bangsar's.

Invokes my memories as well since last time when i was little we used to eat it together with my family. And now ordering it literally have the same taste as before

So +1 nostalgia points:

Malaysia biryani is lapsap. Is an affront to the real biryani. The one that came close to the taste of biryani was from this dilapidated building in brickfields. Sad that its no longer there...

Briyani reminds me of Restoran mamak yang pengotor, ayam direcycle. Harini tak habis, simpan dan goreng balik esok.

Dapur yang kotor. Dont understand wirh Malaysian obsession eating at these kind of restaurant.

One of my friend last time went to India for work purposes, balik Malaysia terus tak nak jejak masuk Restoran Mamak, briyani or serangkaian dengan makanan macam ni.

Taste is a matter of habit became like addiction, I didn't like any food in Malaysia after more than a decade here.
Mamak and some Tai is somehow acceptable but not delicious, but I didn't isolated from our traditional middle east food,
However some Arab students forced to eat only Malaysian food for long time develope a taste for it and find some food delicious but still way below ME or western food for us

Long time boycott edi, portion sikit, price premium. Dulu2 back in early 2000s, they were good. Their restaurant then was at the end of that row, now it's a kitchen/store for catering.

I prefer Briyani House at USJ Taipan last time, used to same row as KFC, then moved to USJ 9 in front of Nasi Lemak Opah, it's Pakistani style with extra long basmathi rice, and use saffron. Sadly also closed, and dunno where they operate now, but last year's bazaar ramadhan, they still got open stall there.

Most recent good briyani i had is Hyderabadi style at Brickfields, see 10:20 onwards.

u heard correctly. and now u can say u heard that it's a very mundane, overpriced and small portioned bryani, and that one would be better off taking a short stroll to the nearby restoran happy for some wild boar ribs curry on white rice drool.gif

confused.gif I did state the name of the place in post #68... Restoran Happy.

It's more of a coffeeshop than restaurant, with economy rice, located at No. 4 Jln Thambipillai. Wild boar ribs curry is available on alternate days. If i recall correctly, it's on Tues and Thurs. And they start selling the stuff after 10AM till around 2pm. The inside of this coffeeshop is a bit hot and cramped; better to take-away and eat elsewhere.

I last ate there at the end of August, and the curry was just as good as before. The crappy photo below was taken in June.

last year i had a briyani at TTDI bazaar ramadhan, the lamb is damnnnn tender, too bad this year got covid T_T

the stall takes up more space compared to others and got quite a long queue, too bad didn't take any pictures because only realised it's damn nice after eating

would anyone knew this stall? if they operate besides bazaar ramadhan?
