Ordered space grey from apple online on 18th Jan (Monday), with original delivery estimate of 4-5 weeks (19/02-25/02). Received notification it shipped out from Singapore on Wednesday and my AirPods Max arrived this morning rclxms.gif rclxms.gif To those who may be turned off from the long delivery estimate online, just give it a shot you might get them early biggrin.gif Ordered the lightning>3.5mm cable as well but they have yet to ship.

I’m not an audiophile but I do enjoy my music. Bluetooth earphones/headphones that I’ve been using regularly using prior to getting the Max are:
- AirPods Pro (most used - for general listening, daily commutes, calls, short haul flights).
- Beats Powerbeats Pro (gym & indoor workouts)
- Bose QC35II (mainly for long haul flights, listening at home, wired connection to my digital piano & drums)
- Aftershokz Trekz Air (for outdoor cycling/running)

First impressions - so far after 3 hours of use I’m loving them, but there are some quirks.
> Sounds much better than Bose QC35II.
> Build quality is top notch.
> Noticeably heavier than Bose QC35II. Still getting used to the heavier weight, I still have to take them off every now and then to let my ears breathe. There’s pressure on the ears from the clamping, I hope this would get better over time.
> Noticeable difference when playing from Spotify (320kbps High Quality) vs Apple Music. Music from Apple Music sounds waaay better (more clarity, max volume is louder) on the AirPods Max.
> Can’t really test out difference for noise cancellation yet as I’m already in a relatively quiet environment. The ultimate test would be on a flight, which I have no idea yet when I’ll be flying next tongue.gif The AirPods Max, Bose QC35II and AirPods Pro are all equally good at blocking out the (not-so-loud) outdoor street traffic sounds from my 10th floor apartment.
> Transparency mode sounds very natural.
> The bra case sucks and is pretty much useless. I won’t be able to store the Lightning>3.5mm cable together with the case. With the Bose QC35, I could easily store the included cables and even pop in my AirPods Pro together in the case. Gonna get a third-party case for the AirPods Max once cheaper ones are in the market, but this isn’t a high priority yet coz I don’t think I’ll be travelling anytime soon.

Yeah I was surprised myself! Didn’t expect to get it so soon. I’ve been reading on MacRumors forum, supplies for the space grey & silver models seem to be available so maybe that’s why i got it early.

Just cancelled my order for the 3.5mm>Lightning cable coz I found one in stock at Switch BSC today.

Give Tidal Master a try, you’ll be amazed.

Thanks for your suggestion! Just subscribed to the 1
month free trial smile.gif I hope I don’t get hooked to it, already paying for both spotify & apple music, too many subscriptions haha.
