Yes, if you are away from your phone and rely on the cellular all the time, the battery drain can be quite severe. I usually just turn off the data on my watch through the shortcut menu and on it only when I am out. Take note that indoor weak cellular connection can also affect your battery life.

It will be great if you workout a lot, otherwise if your phone is always with you, there's no need to buy a cellular version.

That is definitely not normal. I workout heavily and turn on cellular while running outdoor, my watch still last till the end of the day.

I had a cheap China made one previously and it made the watch very warm while charging, not recommended. It will kill the battery.

Using Nike sports loop and solo loop here.

Quality third party charger will cost as much as the original one, so if I were you, I will just go for the original one. Don't think there will be changes in the connector.
