Hi guys, recently I've purchased the Sony WF-1000XM3 earbuds and I'm wondering does it support APTX HD Bluetooth Codec? Cause I Google searched it, many sources said that they're bringing it in via software updates. Any WF-1000XM3 users can confirm? Thank you 😁

No aptx hd. But its not a big deal. It sounds amazing with AAC.

Doesn’t related to the topic but, how does one enable APTX codec on iphone? Bcs i recently bought Marshall Major III bluetooth. And also, how do I know what codec that the bluetooth is currently using? Thanks in advance.

You can't, aptX is not supported on iOS but only MacOS. iPhone basically is stuck with AAC.

As far as BT codec is concerned, yes. However, due to the fact that TWS earphones only have about half the wireless bandwidth (as the bandwidth is split by the 2 sides) as normal BT adapter, they can't use high bitrate codec like aptx HD or LDAC, so the best they can get so far is aptx. We might have to wait till BT5.2, which will double the current audio bandwidth, or a new TWS optimized codec, before we will see further improvement.
